Fellas quick question

As you guys know I received my first M&N basketball jersey a few weeks ago. It is a bit long on me at 29.5 inches, so I would like to get it shortened by a few inches. Can a tailor actually do that without messing up the jersey? How do I go about finding a good tailor?

PLS RESPOND

How much shorter are you trying to make it? I have a horror story of trying to get one altered, but it was because I was asking too much. Trying to make a wearable jersey out of something 3 sizes too big. If you're only trying for an inch or two, I would think a competent tailor should be able to handle that.

Ask friends and family members about their tailors or someone in here can help you find one if they're in your area.

yes it can be done and its not like some special skill that can only be done by specific tailors. just google tailors in your area and go with someone reputable. that said, i would stay away from tailoring a jersey. they are all long these days and its just something u have to get used to. i used to hate how long newer jerseys are and now i kinda like it

Some tailors are better than others. I went to a tailor that wouldn't even attempt anything on my jersey. Then I went to another tailor that could rip the jersey apart and remake it the way I want if needed.

I wear 48 in mn bball. I have tailors 52s to specification and they fit better than my 48s.

First NBA Authentic warm up jacket! Must say these joints are better than expected. Always rep the home team first, but I plan on picking up a few more in the near future. Just ordered the wht home version from Flagship store. They were 25% off. Sized down from my NBA jersey size 44 to a 40...Fit is perfect

On fence about the magic one. Still haven't used my HOF code...

Yes, as people have said it can be done.  Find a local tailor near you that has great reviews, etc.  The one i went to does wedding dresses and such.  I think a big factor is the material also.  I had a Pete Rose baseball jersey tailored in almost every aspect and it turned out perfect.  It was about 65$ all said and done and that included moving the M & N tags that sit on the bottom of jersey as well.  I took in a Barry Sanders football jersey (mesh with other material) and they wouldn't touch it.  They said the mesh and altering  would basically be difficulty and not turn out right.

If your just shortening the length it should be simple and relatively inexpensive.  Good luck

Just go to a tailor that can do a jersey lol
Can't just go to any one....

I was gonna ask to get it down to 26.5 inches from 29.5 inches. So yea just shortening it by 3 inches, nothing else. The rest of the jersey fits me just fine around my chest and waist....repped

I just want to get it shortened that's all, I'm not asking for anything else. I want to rock it with shorts without it looking like a dress, I'm not that tall...repped

I agree, a man should have a good tailor and a good barber....repped

Thierry Henry Thierry Henry

I had one done and they also moved the jock tag up. She said it was simple. I'm going to pick another one up in the next few weeks.

Going from a 5xl down to a 3xl. So shortening and taking it in.

Lengthwise I have a feeling itll be pretty short. Oh well I'll just pray for the best.

Yea that's what I meant lol. I regret not sizing up on mine since it's sooooo short. Might just give it away which sucks since I got it cheap. Actually I would of sized up twice and have it altered to fit long enough and width just right.
