No. I usually wear a M and was thinking the same thing before I got my BP jersey. I bought a M and it fits perfectly. I dont know if the BP without buttons fit differently than the ones that are buttoned

i feel like the button joints are just slightly longer than the crewneck ones

Seems to be that way across the board with the newer M&N jerseys. I got the MJ shrug and Earl The Pearl Knicks jersey and they are much shorter than older jerseys

but I kind of understand why basketball jerseys are long, they want to keep the authenticity since pro players are taller than the average person

They fit shorter on length and sleeves but width is the same. They run about a sz shorter in length than normal jerseys. I prefer the bp VS authentics. For more of a normal fit. The only thing to be worried about is length.
