TERMINATOR THREAD - T2 turns 30 July 3

Just watched this on BL. Horrible..... All of it. Horrible. Calls backs happened on literally EVERY movie so that's not saving this. The story is a reach even by terminator standards.

Saw it Saturday... wasn't bad, but can't hold a candle to T1 or T2.

Also, wondering who sent Arnold back in time to when Sarah was 9 years old.

Wonder if they're going to make a sequel to this one.

Didn't you guys say James Cameron gets the rights to the Terminator franchise back in 2017?

Cameron gets the rights back in 2019. Doesnt mean he's gonna start directing or writing a script right away.
He could just sell the rights again. Or sit on it.

Cameron has been taking ages to finish his Avatar films too. He might be in his 70s if he does another Terminator film. Not saying old directors cannot make awesome movies, look at George Miller with Mad Max: Fury Road.

Cameron's not gonna touch this ever again, especially considering how much they destroyed what he built.

Yeah I don't really see why he'd want to make another film either. They've really just taken a masterpiece and watered it down to mediocrity. Only thing of value that's been added are some books honestly.

I liked it.

But then again when people trash a movie i go in expecting little. The opposite happened with Mad Max. People loved it and I was excited to see it but it was a big disappointment for me.

yall 'member when most sequel movie franchises were mocked as unoriginal, worthless money grabs?

i personally enjoy Friday The 13th part 3 & 4 but these ****in' sequels & reboots & derivative story lines gotta chill
the originals weren't even all dat, damb

T1 and T2 weren't all that?

bros, i'm a terminator freak ....and I thought this was highly entertaining.  solid flick indeed

Just caught it on bootleg and I liked it. They could have not spoiled the whole movie in the previews like they did Salvation though smh. Emilia is always :pimp:

Did you watch the camera bootleg or the 1080p hd version with Asian subs? The HD version shows the credits and you'll see Skynet is alive and well. Not like it matters because the movie is mediocre.

You want to talk about spoiling a movie in a trailer? How about the Terminator 2 trailer lol. I mean, they showed almost every major special effect, plus revealed that Arnold is a good guy, yet it's still regarded as one of the greatest action movies of all time. Trailer spoilers don't ruin a movie. Bad writing and directing do.

To be fair, I don't think T2 trailers exposed that much in the beginning. Back then, you had 1 or 2 trailers before the movie hit the theaters. You had the teaser trailer that made you think T-800 was back to kill JC. Then leading up to its release, they came out with a trailer that included two terminators but they didn't reveal who was what. I remember back then thinking T-1000 was the good terminator because of the cop uniform. Once it released and gained some momentum, they'd add more trailers. Then once the summer was almost over, they'd make more trailers to get you to watch it again. They even made trailers for T2 video release.

In T2 the twist wasn't that the t800 was good, it was that it may have been capable to feel and coexist with humans. Not to mention the role reversal of Sarah becoming the emotionless cold hearted killing machine going after miles Dyson.

Some stupid things in the movie.

Why does Sarah care when Pops couldn't go in the time machine with them because of the exposed steel hand?? They're going in the a time machine, so after a minute when the process is over, they'll be in 2017 and meet up with Pops. It's not like she has to wait 33 years to see it again.

I'm sure there are others but the movie was all over the place, gives me a headache trying to dissect its stupidity.

Logically, yes, that makes perfect sense. She was thinking emotionally however, as a woman who has literally never been apart from that robot since she was like 9 years old. It's understandable that the idea would make her panic at first, just like she panics when he's apparently destroyed.

Pretty much. I'm pissed this movie sucked. If they would of focused on a simple plot and grew the emotion between Sarah and the t800 things would of been much better. Instead everything just felt flat. When the t800 revealed he "loved" it was just .... funny.

They then IMMEDIATELY undo whatever emotion that could of possibly taken place by bringing him right back to life

Yea. Would love of been awesome to see young Sarah and T800 grow together.

Did they reveal who send Pops back in time?
