Uber hustle?

It's not like you can commit a crime and get away with it

They have your name, photo and CC info

I wouldn't want drunk people in my car. My boy yakked in one

fake email address

fake photo

visa debit card with $1 on it. (they just need a card for authorization)

Just saying

I'd never do this but what do you need uber for? Cut the middle man out and make your own money. The hell with paying someone to drive my own car.

I'm with al Audi on this.

How will you obtain the passengers?

Advertising. With social media it's not hard. Get a few clients after a while you'll have a grip from word of mouth. I just don't see the need to pay a middle man in this situation. Get together a couple grand and do it on your own. Just do it on nights and weekends until you make enough consistently to quit your day job.

That's what I'd do. youngdoc youngdoc

Maybe go through them a few months tops. Then I'd get fed up paying them and I'd be passing off business cards to every passenger for my future cab service.

I know few people who do both of them and were coming home with 1k a week extra.

I good with that though. Not tryna put people in my car.

If I buy a beater I'll do it.

the ones that are making 50k-100k, are probably working way in excess of 40 hours per week...it literally seems like it is about the hustle, the more you drive, the more you earn...

also, city traffic is brutal on any vehicle..but if you make enough to cover the expenses that come with city driving, it seems like it can be a lucrative venture...

job reqs if anybody was interested...

What you need to know:
  • Make good money: The typical Uber driving partner makes $50k per year, and some drivers make as much as $100k+ per year
  • Flexible hours: Work when you want (part-time or full-time job).
  • Bring your car, Uber will provide the iPhone.
  • Regular payments: Get checks deposited into your bank account weekly.
  • No hassle: Know who you’re riding with and how much you made each trip. What you do: Uber is looking for drivers who know their way around town and can get our community of riders around safely and quickly. You’ll need a clean driving record and have to be good with people and have a car that is newer than 10 years old. We’ll set you up with an iPhone, which you’ll use to pick up our network of riders. Pick them up, get them wherever they’re going, get your fares. It’s that simple. It’s not required, but if you have previous employment experience as a taxi driver, cab driver, delivery driver, truck driver, courier, Lyft driver, Sidecar driver, or as a driver with another ridesharing or transportation company, that’s a plus.
  • Requirements: You’re at least 23 years old
  • Have a 4-door vehicle, 2005 or newer
  • Have a driver’s license and insurance
  • A great personality and some entrepreneurial spirit

The main draw to these services is that I can pull up the app on my phone and 10 minutes later someone is picking me up

How would you compete with their #'s? Why would I choose to text/call you when I don't even know how far you are vs pulling up one of the apps?

rocked w/ uber a few times.. always had a decent experience.

one the drivers told me that if someone throws up.. they take a pic send it to uber and the person is taxed like $300

taxi companies are hatin

Hatin' because they've gotten away with zero competition for far too long. They're scared because faster, cleaner, more reliable service has come to cities that desperately needed it (like Seattle). Except, the Seattle city council caved to the demands of the terrible cab system, and capped the number of Uber and Lyft cars that can operate at once. It's such BS.

Would only do it if I needed to. Wear and tear that naturally happens to your engine is something I've always worried about when it comes to these jobs where I would use my own car.

There's a Hispanic dude in LA that will drive you from Inglewood to Downtown LA for $15.  Calls himself 'Uber-Mex.'

they will take you a nice distance for like 10$ and they dont mind if you crack a brew while they are driving..

My cousin is doing this. He needed a flexible job schedule so that he can focus on his real career. Makes sense actually.

On the exact same thing. I am using it to learn the northside of my city and network. I've already met a couple new clients and some others in the real estate industry.

The cash is very real. It's really about driving at the right hours to stay efficient and max out on the earnings. I've made $200-225 three days straight.

I started on the 16th. Made 430 in 22 hrs, now I should do 800 this week after having worked roughly 36 hours. I'm gonna stay with it until its over on top of my other hustles.

and the best thing is I'm too damn busy making money rather than blowing it.

not worth my time. especially being in ny. dudes who hop in my car would see that moment as an opportunity to commit an unjust act

Yeh I guess it sucks for those guys if promises were made broken. I'm not in need of much more than an opportunity to make money. This is temporary for me.
