I rock wit Troy Ave, but he kinda got killed by this Vice article

I think people do consider Action Bronson doing something different/innovative, other than the people who call him a "GFK ripoff".

What is new or different about him?

subject wise? voice? flow?

The only thing new is he's fat and white

Online people like to anoint the hot artist like it's the flavor of the month, and it has been him and Joey. They have their hipster fanbase and it allows them to travel, I'm not mad at it, but offline it's totally different.

That's why I find it funny dude is devoting an article to someone he doesn't like. That's some online new generation stuff, because now you listen to interviews and troll their social media to develop a dislike for people. I don't care about these dudes enough to dislike them. If I don't like your music, I don't listen to it. Instead of trying to champion who he claims he does like. J Live and Meyhem just released projects. Why not devote that time to introducing this new generation to J Live who's been grinding for around 20 years, has an interesting story, and actually needs the attention.

This is a troll article from a wannabe journalist on some TMZ ****. If this were the 90's he'd be confronted on it, and he would be copping pleas.

Nobody is ever really bringing anything new technically, but I give props to a lot of new guys putting a fresh spin on the old, or doing their best to re-create/pay homage to the old. As far as Bronson, he just stands out all the way around. I don't see how anyone can listen to any of his projects and not feel good about his take on NY. That type of sound is exactly what I want to hear. I don't listen to much Joey Bad*****, but from all the tracks I've heard from him, dude can spit like crazy, and does a pretty good job of paying homage to that old sound. Troy Ave to me is simply regurgitating old street tales, as if he may as well be doing karaoke. That "New York City" track with NORE, Rae, and Prodigy really just exposes the hell out of him. He's just a super generic rapper. Just empty background noise. There's many other NY artists that simply do what he does but so much better.

To say that Troy Ave is an opportunistic, out-of-touch bozo who does not actually represent the hopes, dreams, and realities of New York rap fans is to state the obvious

Troy Ave. makes music for dudes who've never stepped foot outside of NYC, but are 100% sure everything is better in NYC

Nah, but forreal dude is a lame and his music sucks.

Naw what happen was, a lot of cats caught feelings when Troy started talking about weirdos, because it applied to a rapper they mess with or them

These same white boys y'all claim to hate so much are the ones that actually buy the albums & go to shows. THEY suppose the artist.

Troy Ave is the personification of everything everyone hates about NYC rappers

If you aren't from the culture, I don't care what you say about the culture. The music isn't for you in the first place.

Action Bronson and Roc Marciano have been two of my favorite artists for the last few years.

Article would've had a great point devoid the emotion.

Dude sounds like Troy smashed his chick or mom.

I actually like Troy's last album, can't front. But the whole pro-ny/ anti-hipster persona does mak him seem wild out of touch, and will alienate him from reaching fans, even those in NY.

He may earn the enthusiasm of nonsensical NY enthusiast who may still believe the world wasn't ready for Papoose.

But to the rest of us, Nahh.

What makes dudes like Kendrick weirdos though? If anything Kendrick is just a dude who grew up in the hood but wasn't banging himself.

A dude like Rocky might go too far with his fashion statements but aside from that who says every dude outta NYC has to fit into the typical image or role that NYC rappers do?

Same exact writer will give his cosign to trash like this lol.

But it's his opinion though.

So why does his opinion matter to you?

It's not that deep. Troy Ave's comments shouldn't matter that much to anyone. It's not like you can change his opinion or would confront him on his opinion.

It's like the Jay-Z and Nas thing. How people are still hyped ten years later off what someone else said about someone else they don't know. Ya'll get wrapped up in defending the honor of people who don't care about you.

Dudes are funny how they will dislike someone and catch feelings just based on what they said about someone else they like. Especially when dude is saying stuff that people are saying from behind their computers.

If someone on a message board said Danny Brown or AB Soul were weirdos, who would think twice about it?
If they mentioned New York artist d-ridin the south, who would think twice about it?

Yeah I don't mess with Troy Ave like that either. I don't see what's dope about him. (no pun intended.)

He's winning though. Got a bidding war over him and said he ain't takin' nothin' less 1.3 mil. Young Black man Is winning regardless.

I was just asking a question. It's a discussion my man, do discussions not feature different talking points? I have no dislike towards Troy Ave. based on his opinion on those cats I heard his album and it's ok, good for 2 or 3 plays till you move onto the next thing.

But if that's how you see it then whatever.

His comments about KL don't matter to me at all. Dude is still the definition of a lame New York clown. And again, his music is trash.

he literally **** on troy ave and his crew for no immediate reason...  but everyone is entitled to their own opinion no matter how dumb it may be..

I remember the days when if you were a gangster rapper and someone ******* on you, it got handled. Old boy that wrote the article is probably skipping down the block in his skinny jeans without a care in the world. I'm not advocating violence, but it says a lot about your credibility when someone spends a day with you and has the nerve to destroy your character with the flare that's used here.

Getting attention by dissing other artists for no reason is the definition of lame. His music sucks too but his fake persona is even worse.

Yeah the article was too harsh and the writer kind of seems like a ***. All that needed to be said was Troy Ave isn't as good as he thinks he is. He can stay in his lane and be boxed in with all the other ny rappers like him (which is what hes apparently gonna do) or try and bring something new, which is basically what 50 said.

As for Joey Badass, I give him a pass, while Troy Ave is out here saying he wants to bring back the same New York style, Joey always says in interviews his goal wasnt bringing the 90s back this is just the music he made and was influenced by. Plus he got lyrics and is a crazy spitter. (His music since 1999 hasnt been that great though imo)

oh and Everyones influenced by somebody, but the only rappers I can say are bringing something new to hip hop are the "wierdos" Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa. Making totally different ****.
