I've been MIA from this thread for a bit. But can someone tell me the difference between the Nike lab pair that dropped last year for $175 and the pair dropping on the 27th for $140?

last year was a proper retro. this year is the ultra NSW version with updated materials.
 
the nikelabs were a true to form retro of the OG whereas the ultra's are a stripped down, lighter, cored out midsole and hyperfuse meterial upper.

basically a lesser version of the OG

Cool. Thanks for the explanation.

I still have my Nike lab pair DS. I'll probably get the ultra and can beat those up without any regrets.

Every pair on eBay has all black soles so I think it's safe to say that the final product unfortunately
 
they're straight blackouts minus the red hits on the swooshes. held them in hand today

those pics w/the translucent blue sole are from the samples

Yeah same. Went from banger to bleh.

Plus they definitely dulled the reflective stripes under the mesh.

Plus I was secretly hoping for a glow sole on arrival.

i wanted the transluscent ice blue version so bad.

downgraded to sale pick ups.
 
Excuse the ignorance, but what's the difference between the NDC pair dropping this week and the ones that released last year? Doesn't appear that the ones this week are Ultras?
 
y'all have convinced me to cancel or return my ultra orders. nothing beats the OG retro and i got plenty of those. i may come back around on the black ultras once they hit the sale rack.
 
yeah I'm super disappointed in the shape/build/overall look of the ultra.

wish I could find a pair of the nikelabs in a sz13 :nerd: :nerd: :nerd:
 
FWIW the ultra is super f'n comfy compared to the OG. i don't mind the update but would rather not pay full price for a shoe that i know will get discounted down the road. 

also noticed that the mini swoosh is rubberized. thought it would be stitched like the OG. actually, wish these were winterized. that would maybe justify the $140 price point.

For me it's not so much the materials used between the ultra and the OG, but the silhouette and the color, since I missed on the OG and am not spending $300-400 I copped these and since I paid $115 it's not a big deal
