Military Storage?

Hey, this is my first post on here. I'll start out with a little bit about my self. I'm 18, been collecting since 2009 when i got the AJ1 DMP Bred/Celtic pack for $107 on clearance!! But my collection didn't pick up seriously till about 2012 when I got my first job. Anyways, I'm gonna be leaving for boot camp soon, and my main question was, how should i store my sneakers so that they're all in the same wearable condition when I finally get to rock again? I want all to stay in the same condition and prevent yellowing, but I'm most concerned with my 1999-2002 kicks since they're known for crumbling. I have 2002 Coral Rose low 6s, 2000 White Metallic 5s, 2000 Laney 5s, and 1999 Laney 14s. Can anyone tell my the best way to store these in my parents house while I'm gone!? Thanks!!

A lot of people use zip locks with silica packs, but I believe the shoe needs to breathe a bit. Location is the most important for long term storage.

Dark, Room Temperature to Cool, and dry is my preference, and I've been collecting since 98. Avoid attics as it could get extremely hot. Basement works if there is a dehumidifier constantly running, otherwise the basement could get humid...not good. Also, if the basement has ever gotten water, may want to avoid that too. Parents ain't worrying about your kicks in an emergency!

To be safe, keep the few precious shoes on the main level if possible. I cut black construction bags into box liners to minimize light, but keep the shoes breathing. Good luck.

The best way to store them is just put them in their box and keep them in a cool, dry, dark place. But there's no sure thing when it comes to the older pairs, the longer they sit the older they get and have more of a chance of crumbling or sole separation.
