Doug Martin.
i meant career-wise. muscle hamster showed what he can do in the league his rookie year.

ball, not so much
thought you meant just last season.

Muscle Hamster hasn't shown all that much either tbh.

In his rookie year, he started very, very slowly. Then finally, after week 8  he blew up.

He had 5 great fantasy showings, but also many average-mediocre games and showed very little consistency. So banking on his rookie year as a body of work, likely isn't the smartest thing to do either.

it also helps that Lovie Smith is there now meaning he'll get more touches off a dump off giving him room to cook outside the numbers

I'd watch out for either Sims or Rainey taking some time away from Martin if he struggles early in the year. I know obviously you can't judge much from the first preseason game, but he showed the same lack of vision he showed the beginning of last year before he got hurt. Dude just goes straight up the gut every time without trying to bounce outside when there just isn't anything straight ahead. It's really annoying...it's basically a waste of a down every time. If we don't trade for Boone our guards are also atrocious at the moment so we're going to need somebody who can bounce it outside and be a really good pass catcher like Sims.

What are ya'lls sleeper pics for the year, although kind of hard to say/judge before the last preseason game?

Even if Muscle Hamster cooks, Tedford is a RB by committee guy.

Everyone says Khiry Robinson for New Orleans' backfield. I'm different, I like Travaris Cadet. He's the new Sproles.

That dude John Brown on the Cardinals was looking like a beast, and Palmer and Arians were raving about the dude.
He's definitely fast and Arizona went to him early and often against Houston. I wouldn't buy into the Colts #88 and Q comparisons just yet.

Just a few random thoughts real quick.....More-so geared for deeper (12-14+ teamers) leagues.

- Joique Bell, Stevan Ridley and Jeremy Hill. All essentially have the same role in their respective backfields. They all are used as the change of pace, goal-line, and timeshare back behind scatbacks (Reggie Bush, Shane Vereen, and Gio Bernard). Thing is though, Jeremy Hill is the cheapest of the three and arguably may be the most talented. While Bell might be more valuable in PPR and might outright supplant Bush at some point, I think Jeremy Hill is the best value here. Why pay a premium price for essentially the same type of back when you can get Jeremy Hill rounds later? 8-10 TDs for Hill is not out of the question.

- Gronk. Listen, guys....When it comes to fantasy the only thing that matters is that championship. Nothing else, sure you might win some money finishing 2nd or 3rd but the big money goes to the champ. Gronk is going for the low and there's no reason NOT to "reach" for the guy in the 3rd round. Hell come money league time, guys are going to be grabbing him up in the 2nd. Does he carry a greater injury risk than most guys? Sure. But on a week to week basis nobody else, not even Graham is going to give you the same bang for your buck. Why? Because Gronk at his healthiest is THE best TE in the NFL and Jimmy Graham is a first rounder. Something about securing a top--end RB1 and then securing a top-flight WR1 and THEN securing the best TE in the NFL in Gronk just gets me all warm and fuzzy inside. Don't freakin' draft to just win, draft to ******* dominate.

- Tom Brady. Last time I checked Vegas has him 4th in MVP odds. Last time I checked fantasy "experts" have him as a low-end QB1. Oh his arm strength is waning, oh he depends too much on Gronk, oh the Pats run it heavy now, oh their receivers are fragile and inexperienced. Yeah, whatever. There is just no way I can justify taking Matt Ryan or even a Nick Foles ahead of Tom Brady. At his best you're looking at a guy who still has a 40+ TD ceiling and you're getting him for a fraction of the Peyton/Brees/Rodgers price-tags. Draft him, and if you feel THAT uneasy about it, wait a few rounds and grab a guy like Big Ben or Andy Dalton.

- Cam Newton. So Cam has inferior weapons this year huh? O rly? So whatever fantasy experts say we're just going to go ahead and go with that, even if it's a fallacy? Really? Listen. Jericho Cotchery is coming off a very quiet 10 TD campaign playing behind Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders. Kelvin Benjamin and Cam are already showing a strong rapport and the kid has a ton of talent. Greg Olsen is one heck of a TE. Mike Tolbert is a freakin' swiss army knife out of the backfield. Brandon Williams has been a project that looks ready to shine. The Panthers have wanted to go 2 TE and the kid is in the same mold as previous basketball players turned TEs. This Panthers aerial attack has improved since "losing" Steve Smith. Why are folks balking on Cam Newton? I expect a career year from Cam. Stud.

- Lamar Miller. Knowshon is out of the picture and now Lamar has Bill Lazor as his OC. Guy essentially has the backfield to himself and I've always been impressed by his tape. In fact coming out of college he was compared to none other than Shady McCoy. Lamar Miller even met with Shady in the off-season to get some advice. Now am I saying Lamar Miller is going to turn into a McCoy clone? No. But I do believe a breakout is coming and I really believe he can be a premier talent in the NFL. Draft the kid.

- Brian Hartline. Sure he only had 4 TDs last season, but he quietly put together a 1000 yard year. Lazor is going to have Tannehill hitting all his weapons, Wallace, Clay and Brian Hartline. For those in PPR, you can do worse than Hartline as a late round flier.

- Tannehill. Lazor implementing the read option down in Miami. I'm taking Tannehill as my QB2 and you guys should too.

- Reuben Randle. Ben McAdoo is going to have Eli playing much more efficiently than in years past. Gilbride basically telegraphed the play calling to a point where opposing defenses could do whatever they want. Not gonna be the case with McAdoo on the sidelines. Reuben Randle flashed his potential last year. However showed a ton of rawness, running the wrong routes often. McAdoo is going to be playing a ton of intermediate and short yardage football with this passing attack. Randle is going to be THE primary redzone read and I truly believe he's a lock for 10+ TDs this year. There's gonna be a lot of salsa dancin' for sure, but Randle gonna be the guy who ends the season with the most TD receptions for the Giants this year.

That's it for now. Just pretty random thoughts I wanted to share with you fine gents. Have a pleasant evening.

Oh and Montee Ball and his god damned 2nd round ADP.

F.O.H. with that.

CJ Anderson, Ronnie Hillman, Juwan Thompson. Kids can all ball.

Ronnie Hillman in particular has shown time and again that he is outright explosive. He just needs to hold on to the got'damned ball.

You guys can have your Montee Ball coming off an apendectomy.

Meanwhile I'll take Hillman who is getting first-team reps in practice and is their first option in the preseason ahead of Anderson. Hell I'll take Juwan Thompson and his rock solid pass protection and his hard-nosed running ability over Ball's 2nd round pricetag.

I'll gladly grab a Broncos RB with a late round pick.

^ Standard format. Which two would you have drafted of the four: Fitz, Cruz, Keenan Allen, D-Jax?

Yes, I'm still thinking about it.

So what RBs would you target in Round 2?

Thoughts on Rashad Jennings and the Giants' rookie RB Williams?
Jennings is just inside the top-25 for backs, for me. Taking guys like Rice, Miller, Trent over Jennings and Gerhart.

Williams seems to be a late-round selection. I prefer Freeman, West, or Hill.

Yes, I'm still thinking about it.

Standard I'd have it in this order.

1. Keenan
2. Cruz
3. Fitz
4. D-Jax.

I'd have it the same way in PPR. Fitzy just doesn't have the same ceiling he used to, Michael Floyd just feels like the wideout to own in that offense. D-Jax is a guy I like but he's boom or bust and that's not going to change.

Keenan is coming off an impressive rookie campaign and I expect him to continue to grow. Cruz is going to have a stellar year with McAdoo as his OC, his sub-1000 yard season was an anomaly.

So what RBs would you target in Round 2?

Assuming both DeMarco Murray and Marshawn Lynch are off the board (as they both should be).

RBs I like with a 2nd round pick are...

LeVeon Bell and Zac Stacy.

Lukewarm on Gio Bernard in the 2nd, but if it was the tail-end of the 2nd round and I'm drafting for PPR, I'd scoop him.

Arian Foster is squarely on my DND list, guy is falling apart. Love Jonathan Grimes as a late round flier though.

And Morris IMO is more of a 3rd rounder, but I'd take him in the 2nd in standard.

Before I say yes, PPR or standard?

Most likely my answer will be yes regardless of format. You're getting top-7 value in R2. He's just behind Forte and Lacy.

I never understood the whole Lynch doesn't catch passes thing.

Guy is coming off a 300+ yard receiving campaign with 36 receptions and 4 TDs. Not too bad for a guy who is stigmatized as one-dimensional back. Guy has GREAT hands too. Dude plucks catches out of the air one-handed and has great after the catch instincts.

I never understood why folks think he's Alfred Morris or something. Guy is a complete running back and can do everything well.

If he lands in the 2nd round I'm grabbing him and laughing all the way to the bank in standard or PPR.
