OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

^ Gotta start a 2nd QB in that format. Even your mid level QB will put up more points than a top 10 WR or RB most of the time. The league that I run has that OP spot, and while a few guys every year choose not to start 2 QBs, I think it's to your advantage to do so. Although two years ago a guy who started a WR there won the chip .

My top QBs:
Manning
Brees
Rodgers
Stafford
Luck
Brady
Cutler
Romo

Tell me about it. Don't know whether to just go a stud QB and play 2 stud RBs or go WR and TE since you can play up to 4. Kind of fun though, so many ways to build a team with this format.

In regards to top 12 in a 6pt passing TD and PPR, after the big 4 RBs I'd go QB easy. Might even bump a QB over AP.

Btw who's yalls top 3 QB list?

1) Rodgers I see a huge bounce back year
2) Brees
3) Manning I just don't see him replicating his record year last year (same reason I'm not too sold on D. Thomas as the clear cut #2 WR)
manning has a brutal schedule. brees sorta sucked during away games last year. i'm putting rodgers, luck and rwilson in my top 5

My team from the live draft yesterday...I think I might make some noise here.

My first pick was Forte at #3
No offense, but I think this team is horrible.  First of all, picking Forte at #3 overall means you passed on a RB who is better than him and less injury prone.  Secondly, you are relying heavily on Foles/Cooper to produce at the level they did last year.  I dont see that happening.  Also, your #2 running back will either be Chris Johnson or someone who is terrible.  Lamar Miller is garbage and Donald Brown is a backup RB.

Good luck to you sir, but unless this is a 16 team league, I wouldnt count on "making noise."

appreciate the feedback even if its negative. In advance, how do you like your crow?

Wilson? Manning Brees will still out score Wilson. Andy dalton/stafford/Foles/Newton will out score Wilson.

Russell Wilson ain't gonna be top 5, probably not even top 10. Those top three, Brady, Rodgers, Luck, Foles, Stafford, Romo, Rivers and Cam will all put up more points.

we'll see. wilson scrambles too. maybe the seattle run-heavy offense or whatever scares you but i think he'll do more this year. i don't think dalton, foles, or newton will outscore wilson

How long are they gonna drag this Josh Gordon suspension ruling?

I'm contemplating whether or not to scoop him up.

Me too. I personally wouldn't select him in the top-12, but I've seen him go high as #8 overall. The injury risk bothers me. I understand why he's ranked where he is with no elite RB's after the top-6 at the position.
I prefer Hunter to Robinson. Who are you dropping?
Regarding Murray.

i took him in both NT leagues ( 7th and 8th pick) for the same fact you pointed out. i just hope that improved o-line will do him wonders and he does stay healthy.

witten is older, dez will be doubled up a lot and there is concern over Romo's arm strength  so im hoping he'll see plenty of dump offs....

ruling might come at the end of the week.
he's worth  taking regardless
that's what I wanna do but I'm not sure for who? I would think Hunter?

QB Foles
QB Big Ben
RB Montee Ball
RB Zac Stacy
RB Shane Vereen
RB Fred Jackson
WR Demaryius Thomas
WR Cordarrelle Patterson
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Justin Hunter
K Justin Tucker
Def Buffalo Bills

10 team 1 point PPR (work league) 1 point per 10Yards passing/6 point passing TD

QB- Luck
WR -Dez, Alshon Jeffery, cordarrell Patterson and Reggie Wayne
RB- Leveon Bell, Ryan Matthews, Joique Bell, Ben Tate, Fred Jackson
TE- Jimmy Graham

feedback?

Patterson in my Flex?

Patterson in the Flex is great brah. If anything I might try to trade Patterson for a better RB. You're going to have a headache deciding between Matthews, Bell, Tate, and Jackson on a weekly basis to start.

I have always like Lamar Miller but he is always a bust

Do you guys think he can some impact this year?

Man, I hate Lamar Miller, every year he's the sleeper and so far nothing. That being said, Moreno beasted last year and that backfield is way too crowded right now to be spending a mid round pick on him TBH. I like Moreno more then Miller as of now. I do like Tannehill this year though with his new OC from Philly.

Drop Ben in your position. In a standard position league, if I have a top 8 QB, I usually don't keep a backup QB unless it's a steal.

I honestly never saw the appeal in taking Josh Gordon. He's going to miss at least half the season by the time he returns you would have had to waste a roster spot on him all that time. Not to mention he could miss the entire year (which seems logical).

Gonna try to swing Fitz or Roddy and Rudolph for Gronk and Britt or Nicks... Dude needs WR help and I'm relatively deep at all positions except QB and TE.

Damn I keep forgetting that every year that FF comes around, the phone going off nonstop via group messaging is also inevitable

Because if you drafted good enough in your first 9-10 rounds then your team will be EXTRA stacked for the last 8 weeks including fantasy playoffs with Gordon if that's all he gets. It's worth the spot, especially in keeper leagues.

In a keeper league, that's a different story. Also how long each season is.

Depending on how deep the league is, I feel like it's an interesting debate. Not to mention, I don't expect him to get right back in the groove right away. If he can come back at all that is.

Gordon single handedly won many owners their FF Championship. 8 weeks of what he put up with a late round pick (which all you can really hope for then is a breakout player). He was even better then Calvin in that span. Even led the league in Receiving yards and yds/game in less weeks.

We all know that though, will he be able to duplicate that type of production after missing half the season? I have my doubts on that

Man don't listen to this dude about forte. You made the right pick. Forte was #2 in points last season and playing in a offense thats even better and another year under their books. Can't go wrong with any 4 guys
