OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

I'm in a money 12 man non PPR league...who should I keep D. Martin (losing 3rd rounder) or Le'Veon Bell (likely losing 4th rounder)

What do you guys think about Cobb for Nelson? Same QB I know so they'll both eat but I'm interested to see if Cobb can be more productive as Nelson during the season

Yeah I'm keeping my eye on Dougie as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see his ADP jump up to the mid to early 2nd round with Nicks healthy to start to the year hopefully.

Top 5 that I'M targeting. Brees, Ryan and Stafford are all on my bubble. As much as I love Brees, I got a feeling he's approaching the down slope of his career. The ONLY reason Matt Ryan is as solid as he has been is because of the weapons he's been given around him. I'm otherwise just simply unimpressed by the guy really. Keep in mind, the Lions now have a new coach and new receiver which means completely different playbook! I think a lot of people have forgotten that. I'm not implying that Megatron still won't be the man out there, but let's just say I'm a little skeptical as to how much they're actually going to be throwing the ball now.

Strike two.

Bell for sure. Martin shouldn't be drafted before him...at best same round.

They are really similar, but I like Nelson over Cobb this year.

Ugh! Somebody get me a new ump already.....oh, and by the way, the only reason why you wouldn't take Bell over Doug is because the Steelers just picked up Blount, which could possibly eat up his red zone points. Otherwise, Bell's the better pick!!

Anyone else drinking the Zach Ertz/Kyle Rudolph kool aid this year? I feel like they're both going to put up good numbers.

The entire Vikings offense is going to put up numbers. Rudolph, AP, Jennings, Patterson...All of 'em! So long as Ponder isn't under center, their offense will be :pimp:

Can you look at anything Bucs related objectively?

I can....I'm just asking you to tell me why you think Bell over Doug is the right choice though.

Also, I'm drinking the Rudolph Kool-Aid but I'll pass for now on the Ertz. I think Ertz will have a solid year but too many weapons for Philly for him to put up great numbers IMO.

I hope Jennings makes some noise this year. Last year, he was inconsistent since the QB situation was crazy.

Agreed though, Vikings have lots of good pieces on offense.

The moment Cassel came in, Jennings started to go OFF. Considering he's the frontrunner right now for the job and that Teddy Bridgewater is a great distributor, the Vikings offense should have lots of balance and loads of production.

Kyle Rudolph is being touted highly as a "wait on your TE" target.

Ertz hasn't proven anything, he doesn't deserve to have kool aid

Everyone on the Buccs did work last year when they had a shot.. aside from Martin who started extremely slow and then got hurt. Mike James, Rainey, even the white dude they had put up decent numbers last year. With that said, they have a lot of talent in that backfield and I've heard rumblings of a true RBBC in Tampa.

'Doug Martin is a franchise running back, but Tedford states he doesn’t want to put the whole load on Martin’s shoulders. Instead, the new offensive coordinator says he’s installing system he used at Cal in which multiple running backs are used throughout the year.' - per Tampa Tribune

Bell on the other hand, had a damn good year while sitting the first 2-3 games due to injury and still managed to put up good numbers. He can catch out of the backfield and with a weak offense (on paper), should be in line to get a lot of carries. Blount being there scares me a bit, so if I would happen to grab him, I'd take Blount as a cuff.

First and foremost I'm buying into the talent level. He's a big back that can catch the ball. The downside is the possibility of Blount stealing GL carries, but he has a real shot at 1300+ yds and 8+ TDs.

Martin, obviously is coming off a big injury, albeit a sort-of freak injury. Getting hurt, so badly, so early in your career can have a mental effect so we really have to see him bounce back.

Cut and dry, right now, having not seen either of the two in camp, in pre season games, drafting Martin is RISKIER than drafting Bell.

That being said, I would not be surprised if, come week 3 of the preseason, Martin is showing he is okay, these 2 will be drafted right next to each other.

Hope Teddy actually "wins" the starting job since I hadn't heard anything official about it yet. Last I heard, no rookies had starting gigs, but he has a good head on his shoulders and hopefully he can pull it off so AP doesn't see 8/9 in the box and Jennings can go off.

Rudolph is my main guy this year haha but Ertz is a fall back plan if anything.

Doug's injury wasn't THAT bad, and it was definitely a freak injury. Stupid *** play drawn up to throw him a wheel route pass 20 yards down the field for no reason. Atleast it wasn't a leg injury. He's been 100% healthy for a looong time now, and the Bucs line will be a lot better than the past couple years. Hell of a lot better coaching staff as well with a HC that loves pounding the rock.

I do really like Bell though. I think they're about even to be honest. Both will have very good years IMO, can't go wrong with either one at where they're projected to be drafted.

Doug Martin presents solid value. He's someone to monitor during training camp and preseason to see how he handles the work load. But according to reports he's fine. And if he really is fine, in that offense, getting him in the 3rd-4th rd is a serious value
Worrisome factor is Tedford's preference for RB by committee. Incorporating Rainey, James, Sims.

Bell is the easy choice for me.

Standard or PPR? Most would rate Nelson a few slots over Cobb because of TD output.

The GB receiver I want to own this year is Boykin.

Ertz, yes. Rudolph, not as much. Outside of 2012, Rudolph has caught 56 balls in 2 seasons. The 9 TD output in 2012 might also be an anomaly.
