OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

How do you guys feel Kenny Stills will do this year? Thinking about picking him up off the waiver wire and dropping Jordan Matthews.

Keeping my eyes on Derek Carr as well. Got Cutler and Palmer for QB and I'm not a fan of Palmer at all
Stills is better but he's facing more competition in New Orleans, and battling a nagging quad injury. Cooks will take some of his targets.

Dont like Stills this yr too many mouths to feed this yr plus Brandon cooks emergence is something to look at...Thank me Later :smokin

here's my roster from 12 team auction draft:

QB-Rivers
RB-AP
RB-Gore
RB/WR-Brandin Cooks
WR-AJ Green
WR-Desean jackson
TE-Ebron
FLEX-Sankey
D/ST-Denver
K-Dawson
BE-Eli Manning
BE-Kelvin Benjamin
BE-Brian Hartline
BE-Sproles
BE-Jace Amaro
BE-Jeremy Hill

Didnt really want ebron as the starting TE but everyone else kept bidding up the other TEs. Then i went to the bathroom and martellus bennett was taken for $1 :smh:. Hopefully stafford will throw a decent amount of times to ebron though.

Should i put in Sproles for Cooks for week 1? Cooks is unproven at this point but im not sure how many touches Sproles will get behind mccoy.

Also was thinking of offering jeremy hill straight up for carlos hyde in case something happens to gore. Thoughts on that? :nerd:
No, Hill is far more valuable than Hyde with goal-line TD and stealing carries from Gio.

Cooks should start W1, Payton and Brees will get him involved early and often. He's a better version of Tavon Austin, IMO. Flex is between Sankey and Sproles. Sankey a lean for standard, Sproles the start in PPR.

Browns vs Steelers
Bears vs Bills
Steelers vs Browns
Lions vs Giants
Eagles vs Jags
Texans vs Skins

All available...which one should I pick?
Don't fancy Cleveland's defense this week in particular, although I like them over the course of a season.

Chicago's secondary is weak, they ranked 30th in YPG and PPG allowed.

Detroit's secondary is vulnerable to air assault.

I'd play Philadelphia, favorable matchup. Hopefully improved safety play with Jenkins back there. Pittsburgh is alluring because of an unidentified QB and RB situation. They lack weapons outside of Cameron.

Hey Guys,

Thoughts/Question about my team.  12 team .5PPR

QB: Kaepernick
RB: McCoy
RB: Murray
WR: J Nelson
WR: R White
TE: Olsen
FLEX: CJ Spiller
K:
D: Seattle

Bench
R Rice
B Pierce
J Bell
Andre Williams
Doug Baldwin
R Streater
J Boykin

I know I'm weak at reciever, hopefully Roddy doesnt get hurt.  I took Boykin in rd 15 because I couldnt believe he was still available.  My issues are I have both Roddy and Nelson on byes in week 9 so keeping Boykin seems stupid.  My hopes are after week 1 to trade 1 or 2 of my RBs for a WR2.  There are several people starving for RBs in my league but for some reason they all fell into my lap draft day.

I need to drop 1 to pick up a kicker, I think its between Boykin and Williams since I am so stacked at RB, but I obviously would love to stash him for later on.  I am also considering dropping Streater.

Any thoughts?
You're fine at receiver. Roddy has given the torch to Julio, but he's still a legit WR2 behind Jordy.

No, keep Boykin. Drop either Streater or Williams for a K (in that order).

I would attempt to shop Joique Bell for an upside receiver.

The only reason I did is because of the RB's that were available at picks 20 and 21 ( .25 pts per carry in this league) .  Then I had to wait til pick 40 to get CP... Dynasty league and CP's value should be round 2-3 at worst after this year.

Wallace isn't a bad option at WR3, although I do believe Cooks supplants him by midseason.

I hope so... This is the league that has 8 keepers year to year.

Hoping Cooks steps up... Also got a few solid RB handcuffs for the future.

Who else has that dread feeling like they should have taken Player X instead of Player Z? In a 10 team standard money league. The whole morning I'm feeling like :smh: :\

I went Eddie Lacy, D. Thomas, Julio Jones, Vincent Jackson and Vereen when I could have went Lacy, Ball/Gio, J. Jones, V. Jackson and Garcon

Now I'm offering Thomas and Vereen for Ball and Boldin, ya or nay?
. I wouldn't do that trade

First year playing Fantasy Football. With the exception of the Texans and the bigger names in the leagues, I don't know too much about other teams and such. I was trying to keep up with some fantasy FB news but at the last second, lost my cheat sheet the day before so I pretty much drafted who I knew/could remember. :smh:

How'd I make out? 8 person league, standard scoring

Foster and RGIII are my biggest concerns since they could get injured early this season. Also, I haven't really messed with the line up too much so I'm thinking about that.

Pretty good team. If i were you I'd start Torrey Smith over Colston tho.

First things first, FF will be a lot of fun. Def. a good way/incentive to watch other teams' games && learn more about different players. There's a chance you may get hooked on FF...a very good chance.

Rotoworld && FantasyPros will be two of your best friends throughout the season as far as keeping tabs on players/situations go. Others, I'm sure, will recommend some more good sites as well.

As far as your team...you did very well. Calvin + Forte is a deadly WR/RB combo. Fitz && Colston are very reliable options to round out your starting receivers (like Nick said, you may wind up starting Torrey Smith over Colston also. He'll have another very good year, possibly a career year this season).

Injury is a concern for Foster && RG3, but if they stay healthy, they/re gonna put in some serious work. Griffin, I think, would likely end up as your starter if he stays injury-free. Cameron's gonna be a target monster in Cleveland too. Top 2 TE ceiling, Top 5 TE is his floor IMO.

Denver should be improved on defense with Von Miller returning, plus Ware && Ward joining the mix. Should be a good year for your squad, overall.

The commissioner is most likely in charge of removing a team from the league. Hit him up if you can.
It is a NFL Managed league.. I went to owners and there is no commish in the league.. smh.
Oooooooooooh.

Might just have to act as if the team doesn't exist for the year. Or maybe someone you know would be interested in running the team, but idk.

I'd keep your lineup exactly as is for week 1. I agree with another commenter - after wk1, Torrey Smith should likely be in there over Colston.

I like Colston wk1 in a dome tho.

I'm worried about RG3, but I think Foster is gonna be just fine.

Please rate my team.  12 team PPR league:

B: Knowshon Moreno

What do you guys think about this trade?

I give M. Ball and Kendall Wright

I get D. Murray and Golden Tate

My RBs are Z. Stacy, R. Bush, D. Sproles, and R. Rice

My WRs are R. Cobb, M. Colston, P. Garcon, and T. Smith

I'm leaning towards not accepting it

Impressed, achieved balance. Russy's a top-10 fantasy QB for most, could experience a slight jump in performance despite losing Tate. Seattle addressed the receiver position with Richardson and Norwood.

Shady was my choice as well for top overall in the PPR format. Gave slight pause to consider AP and Charles. Cobb and Brown are ideal PPR players, given their speed and involvement in their respective offenses. Vereen or Spiller at RB2, high upside with C.J. Limited risk if he falters. Spiller or Crabby in the Flex is above solid. Pitta is going to feast with Kubiak. Cooks and Hill on the bench with great potential.

Curious, who did you take Pos over for IDP?

All you need RG3 for is Luck's bye week, he's not going to supplant Luck as your starter. Foster is an injury risk but also capable of double-digit rushing TD.

Definitely start Torrey Smith in the Flex over Colston. One's career is going up, the other going down.

Probably should have prefaced it by saying I am in a keeper league.  I acquired Lynch and DT last season via trades and they became keepers.  The downside to that was the fact that after those top 4 guys, the rest of my players are fairly suspect....as I didnt have a draft pick until the 4th round (which is the equivalent of the 8th round (since 48 players are kept).

Yeah, I've been looking at sleeper picks, possible trades, etc. I can tell I'll probably end up getting a bit obsessive.. My girl is in the league too and she knows even less about the games than I do. Probably going to end up managing her team until she gets the hang of it. She did end up getting Lynch... might try to trade her someone on the sly... :nerd:

Now it all makes sense

I think you did pretty well considering the circumstances. TE is a lil weak but your 4 keepers should be able to carry your team for the most part

bench WR's are gonna be hit or miss...i think Smith will do ok in Baltimore but not a consistent WR 3, but DT and peyton could compensate there for you. TE production might not be there in Gates stays healthy.
