OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

Please rate my team.  12 team PPR league:

QB: Peyton Manning
RB: Matt Forte
RB: Marshawn Lynch
WR: Demaryius Thomas
WR: Steve Smith
WR: Reggie Wayne
TE: Ladarius Green
D: Tampa Bay
K: Matt Bryant

B: Jay Cutler
B: Knowshon Moreno
B: Tre Mason
B: Anquan Boldin
B: Danny Amendola
B: Miles Austin

Thanks in advance.
I'm with you by risking and investing a lot in Green as a starting TE. Has all the tools, let's see the production with Gates fading.

I'd upgrade WR3. Reggie Wayne is actually your WR2. Just saw Boldin on your bench, Smitty shouldn't start over Q. When you have Peyton, you can afford to package Cutler in a trade to upgrade another position. Whether it be WR3 or TE.

What do you guys think about this trade?

I give M. Ball and Kendall Wright
I get D. Murray and Golden Tate

My RBs are Z. Stacy, R. Bush, D. Sproles, and R. Rice
My WRs are R. Cobb, M. Colston, P. Garcon, and T. Smith

I'm leaning towards not accepting it
I'd tentatively accept that offer. A healthy Murray is projected to be better than Ball, he's more proven. Just injury-plagued. Wright and Tate is close to a push, Wright catches more passes but Tate is better after the catch.

I might consider including Stacy rather than Ball. Can't decide which I prefer, Ball has experience fumbling issues while Stacy is being pushed by Benny and Mason.

@ChampCruThik

what do you think of my main league
12 team ppr with an idp spot
Impressed, achieved balance. Russy's a top-10 fantasy QB for most, could experience a slight jump in performance despite losing Tate. Seattle addressed the receiver position with Richardson and Norwood.

Shady was my choice as well for top overall in the PPR format. Gave slight pause to consider AP and Charles. Cobb and Brown are ideal PPR players, given their speed and involvement in their respective offenses. Vereen or Spiller at RB2, high upside with C.J. Limited risk if he falters. Spiller or Crabby in the Flex is above solid. Pitta is going to feast with Kubiak. Cooks and Hill on the bench with great potential.

Curious, who did you take Pos over for IDP?
its a yahoo league with 2 RB and 3 WR spots. spiller will be on the bench for me as long as vereen stays productive. wasnt comfortable taking crabtree but didnt want to reach for another WR.

spiller slipped too far down not to take him.

i took Poslusny cause hes a tackling machine, keuchly, willis, lavonta david were all gone by the time i decided to draft the IDP spot.

Might have pondered Burfict or Derrick Johnson. Nothing wrong with Pos.

What's the better play for week 1

Bears D vs Buffalo
Eagles vs Jags

Both at home
Philly. Chicago was ranked 30th in PPG and total yards allowed in '13.

NT - Mixed feelings on my team, I feel it's either boom or bust.  Thoughts??  (10 Team PPR)

Bench is average, but I would insert CP into the starting lineup. Over Bell or Dre in that order.

My team after Toretto's draft last night. 12 teams I had 6th overall pick

QB- Brees
RB1- Ben Tate
Rb2- Gore
Wr1- Megatron
Wr2- Fitz
TE- Vernon Davis
Flex- Brandin Cooks
K- Nick Folk
Def- New England

Bench: Watkins, Deangelo Williams, Steve Smith, Blount, James Jones, Dwayne Bowe

I really didn't wanna take a QB with my 2nd overall pick but all I heard in my head was "500 yards, 500 yards"
You have to address the RB position. Tate or Gore are both RB2's at best. West might take Tate's job and Hyde might take Gore's.

No set lineup but here is my 1st fantasy squad for this season. 10 team draft...4th overall pick. My bench is mad suspect/injury prone smh. I have another one tonight so hopefully I can land that 1st or 10th pick.

QB Cam Newton
RB Jamaal Charles
RB Frank Gore
WR AJ Green
WR Alshon Jeffery
TE Jason Witten
Flex Percy Harvin
D Cardinals D
K Phil Dawson

49ers Defense
Jeremy Maclin
Steven Jackson
Anquan Boldin
Antonio Gates
Andy Dalton
Kelvin Benjamin
Mac9 and Q are ready if Percy gets hurt. I'd package one with S-Jax to upgrade RB2. You can do better than Gore with those receiver assets. Don't hold two defenses.

Browns D vs Steelers
Or
Texans D vs Skins
Gruden's offense will take time. RG3 has looked shaky. Texans will get pressure with their front seven. Back-end improved with Lewis and Swearinger.

My last team.  Standard scoring...

Bush is a more than adequate RB2, even in standard but I'd try to upgrade in a 10-teamer. You have Allen as surplus just riding the bench. RG3 can be worrisome if Gruden has the stones to switch to Cousins.

Woah. with welker suspended 4 games Sanders value gets a major boost

I was contemplating putting Ben Tate or Emmanuel Sanders at my flex spot this week...looks like my decision has been made

10 team
QB Brady
RB Lynch
RB Ellington
WR AJ Green
WR A Brown
TE J Reed
Flex Garcon
Def Broncos
K Crosby

C Patterson
Colston
Sankey
Woodhead
Andre Williams
Andre Hawkins
Mike Williams

Tryna gets some thoughts on what you guys think? Should I start Patterson over Garcon? I feel like my bench is rather weak as well.

For those that haven't...Cody Latimer worth picking up in leagues...

........Sorry NT Playmakers and NT 16 Team League....he's no longer available.

Hmmm, just read that you should considering stashing Zac Stacy's backup Benny Cunningham. Not owned in 95% of leagues...

Need help deciding on how to pick for my flex spot for this week. It is a .5 PPR league

Victor Cruz

Roddy White

Shane Vereen

Latimer isn't worth owning over Andrew Hawkins, correct?

Also have Travis Kelce or James White that I could drop for him, but I think I'd still rather own both of them over Latimer.

PPR keeper league btw. Actually not sure how he went undrafted. Dudes in my league are normally very hip to rookie wideouts.

I like Tre Mason more than Cunningham. Even if he is currently third in the depth chart. Dont see that lasting.

Can't believe I'm going to say it after that preseason, but I'll go Cruz. Lions give up too many big pass plays

Vereen a close second

I would definitely keep Hawkins over him right now. Latimer is still like the fifth/sixth receiving option on that team.

Only guy from that list that I'd consider dropping for him is James White. But it heavily depends on your keeper costs, how many guys you can keep per year, etc.

got him stashed on my team but why, what did they say? :nerd:

“When filling the end of your roster, you’re looking for talented players who are just a change in context away from significant contributions. Benny Cunningham is one such player, and that he remains unowned in almost 95% of leagues is criminal. All reports coming out of Rams camp have been glowing, the team was always going to be run heavy and now even more so with the loss of Sam Bradford, and the man in front of him isn’t all that inspiring. An injury vaults Cunningham into the starting role (Tre Mason is a player of interest, but sits behind Cunningham on the depth chart right now) and fellow sophomore Zac Stacy wasn’t all that exciting as a runner in 2013 despite posting gaudy fantasy numbers. As such, a changing of the depth chart isn’t out of the realm of possibility. He’ll net a handful of carries per game to start, but that could change quickly making Cunningham a valuable lottery ticket stash.”

Caldwell is still ahead of cody latimore on the depth chart
Yup, people keep forgetting this. Latimer has all the talent but Manning trusts Caldwell a lot more.
Why does Manning trust Caldwell so much more?

If the rook has talent, he's got talent (which he clearly does).

Latimer is the bigger target and sure hands.

Its not like Caldwell's reputation blows the doors off.

We're talking about manning here. he has said numerous times the importance of trust between him and his recievers.

Its huge for a qb for to have a vet like caldwell to come up with a 3rd down conversion who he trusts will make the play other than a rookie. Cmon dude think lol

Simply because Caldwell is the veteran. He has the experience with Manning and knows the playbook much more in depth and Latimer is unpolished as a route runner. Not to mention, 4 games is hardly enough time for Latimer to surpass Caldwell on the depth chart before Welker returns and Fox is notorious for not giving rookies much burn.

Latimer is the attractive add because of his huge upside but this isn't the ideal situation for him to break out. If anyone is going to benefit from Welker's absence it's going to be Sanders on all the short to intermediate stuff. That being said, he's worth taking a flier on in 14+ team leagues.
