OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

I'd probably go Thomas, I've never liked Murray for fantasy for some reason.. maybe because I find he's always hurt whenever I seem to play against someone who has him. If you were to go HB, I'd go with Bell.. he should be around in that area.

good point. forgot all about jordan..he killed me in both matchups last year too.

thoughts on D. Thomas or D. Murray if conflicted between the two? if your drafting in that 4-8 area, they'll be around for that 2nd pick..
Demaryius by a country mile. Deck is gone, Thomas is only producing second to Megatron at the WR position.

Murray has missed 11 games in 3 seasons. A moderate to severe injury concern. Significant risk with a R2 pick.

anothe quick question..how do you guys choose who to draft around the mid rounds when you need a WR and guys like Antonio Brown, Keenan Allen, Desean Jackson, Decker, etc are all available?

gut feeling?

usually yeah, either that or just favoritism

I always have a tough time deciding between the likes of Andre Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Antonio, Keenan, Cruz and Alshon because it's a crapshoot.. I really think all those guys will have a good/decent year, it's just picking the one that will have the better one out of all of them that's the question. I've been keying in on taking Keenan Allen in the mid rounds cuz I think he's only going to get better and has the best QB option aside from Brown. (Screw Jay Cutler)

Intuition, QB play, past performance, injury history, fellow receiving corps, opposing DB's in the division.

Posted this in the discussion thread, but it's fantasy football relevant. Especially if you want more peace of mind with Rudolph:

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports rookie Teddy Bridgewater has already begun splitting first-team reps with Matt Cassel at Vikings camp.

Glazer reports there is "hugeeee optimism" about Bridgewater among team brass, and he's "definitely been more impressive than they expected." Cassel remains the slight favorite to start on Opening Day, but Bridgewater has quickly made it an interesting camp battle. Bridgewater's passing strengths are at the short and intermediate levels. He could be a great fit with Kyle Rudolph.

Finally came across this thread. So glad football is almost back. This will be our last weekend w/o football until after the Super Bowl :wow:

Im glad one of my main leagues downsized to 12 teams. I've hated playing in 14-team leagues. Whats crazy is that we won't draw out draft positions until draft day (Aug 23rd), so i've been doing mock drafts and drafting in different spots.

Still trying to figure out when i will plan to draft a QB. Now if either Brees, Rodgers, or Manning are available to me in round 3, i'm pulling the trigger. If they're not available, im willing to wait and wait till about round 7-9 depending how the draft goes.

Another thing is that i'm strongly considering taking a defense in the 10th-12th round range. Got my eye on Denver, New Orleans, and New England.

can't wait to get things going, its gonna be a blast this season :smokin

I need your guys help. I have no idea who to pick with 7th overall pick in a ten man standard league.

AP, Charles, Shady, Forte, Lacy, and Johnson will all be gone and I don't know who to pick.  Any thoughts?

Interesting?

What's interesting about them?

Harvin has proven he can't stay on the field, why would you risk drafting someone like that.

Gronk has been hurt for two years straight, and is playing in a depleted offense. You're willing to pay a 4th rd price for a major liability? I'm not

Gronkowski, when healthy, has put up historic numbers for the shallowest position in fantasy. Yes I would consider spending a 4th on him.

Probably only if I already have 3rbs or 2 and a strong QB though.

Yup, spent my 4th on Gronk last year. Copped Brady right after in the 5th...man, what could've been.

I'd take Monte Ball

Nooo reason to do that. I would not do that.

In fantasy it's always smarter to take a guy who might be a year late than one who might be a year early. At least one has shown something before.

I think I will take Foster. Thanks for the suggestions.

Anyways one of the GM's in my league offered his 13, 48, and 108th pick for my 20, 34 and 94th pick. What would you guys do?

I'm still on the fence on who to keep between Jordy and Jeffery. Or is Monte Ball a better option for that keeper. I'm keeping Newton, Charles and Julio already.

Very tough..I love Jordy tho. With AR healthy, he's borderline top fantasy WR. Consistant literally every week.

Alshon fantasy #'s when cutler was QB compared to Mccown is a huge difference btw.

I dunno about Gerhart as a RB2

The Jags offense is pretty bad

Foster had so many injuries last year I am staying away from him
