OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

I didn't really care much about the NT fantasy league I drafted for on Labor Day, but I got auto-picked Lacy and Andre Ellington as two of my first three picks.....now I really don't care

Lacy will be fine they don't play for another 10 days.

I figured he wasn't going to do amazing against Seattle in Seattle anyway.. But damb he needed that easy one.. That would have been a W just getting that short TD.. But McCarthy :smh:

^^Buc em I got both them in my CBS league.. Thats a money league :smh: couldn't pass on lacy at #8. I got Ellington in round 3 or 4 too.. Now all the sudden he's questionable right before game time smh

Yeah that TD hurt. Lynch held me down big time though.

Guys, josh gordon isnt coming back this season. Not gonna happen.

you never know...

if he does, good. if not... i really dont care. I have enough WR's where i dont need him but im not risking anyone picking him up in case he does come back. why give another team a top WR for free?

Worth picking up Dwyer in case Ellington is out? Definitely just scooped him up, mostly to piss off the Ellington owners

I just scooped him up in one of my money leagues. Might have to start toby gerhart at RB2 now..eh

Start Toby, he always was a decent play when AP went down, don't see why he wouldn't flourish being the #1 back in Jax. Todman or Robinson don't really oppose a threat to his touches and the Eagles doesn't scare me. Only concern is the Eagles jumping out to a big lead forcing the Jags to air it out.

Exactly. That's all that matters right now. You gotta be strategic if you want to win a championship. If you have room go for it, low risk/high reward situations like this don't come by too often. Don't be the guy who's tossing the remote across the room saying "damn I was lookin at him on the wavier wire" after he goes off for 200 yards 2TDs

Yep. Same here. He'd be my WR6 so it's well worth stashing him/keeping him away from the competition.

I just dont see the logic in using a roster spot on a guy thats been suspended for the entire season.

Seems like a waste to me, but it aint my league.

I hear sydney rice is another high reward, low risk type of dudes this year....

this is why teams dropped him once his season long suspension was confirmed.

now that theres talk that it could be reduced, being a top 5 WR who can possibly carry your team into the playoffs IF the suspension is reduced he now becomes a high reward roster spot.  cmon son

sydney rice...who is retired

ochocinco or T.O didnt cross your mind while writing that post?

Googled the news about Gordon.. Just picked him up in all my leagues

I'm in a league where it's 10$ to add and drop a player, cost me 20 on Gordon already :smh: cause I drafted him and dropped him after the suspension was upheld or whatever.

.

completely depends on your roster..

I dropped my backup DL in Chris Long to grab Gordon.

you could essentially drop.....your kicker. and then wait to see if any news comes out Sunday.

worse case, you re-swap out your kicker for him if nothing becomes of it.

like homie said, don't be that guy that could have had him but you didn't want to.........waste a roster spot.

The NFL and the NFL player's union are close to an agreement that would modify the sport's drug policies and potentially could result in a reduced or overturned suspension for Gordon, the Washington Post reports. "If we get a deal done that covers players in this league year, I don't like that we punish players under a deal active in the old league year," NFL players union director DeMaurice Smith told 106.7 The Fan in Washington, DC, which was relayed by NFL.com's Albert Breer."

so are you ignoring that HGH testing or nah

thats the only reason hes even being picked up since its been said if it goes through his suspension is reduced or removed entirely

Are u not paying attention to what's being said? Have you read the most recent news on Gordon, Wes Welker, and Orlando Scandrick?

Its not like anyone is saying drop Alshon Jeffrey for Gordon but if you have an open roster spot or a deep WR core, why not take the chance?

Its not like we have to wait 10 weeks for the league to make a decision. Im certain a ruling will come out in a week or so since other suspended players are being mentioned, if it doesn't play in his favor then you drop him. Pretty simple.

Why would the NFL retroactively reduce Gordon's ban?

Something like that has probably never happened in any court system.

The NFL has realized they dropped the ball with their mishandlings of recent suspensions, see Ray Rice. Now they're trying to correct those mistakes.

Add in the fact the union may give in with the HGH testing, its a win-win situation for everyone.
