OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

this ellington news is brutal...he was my second RB in main league with shady as my first...backups are hyde ingram sproles and i swopped stephan taylor....thinking of most likely rolling with sproles since its ppr

I check Rotoworld daily, let's not act like everything they say is concrete.

Gordon and others broke rules that they all agreed to abide by, it doesnt matter what happens after their punishment is handed down.

If folks start getting suspensions retroactively dismissed whats to stop players who were suspended last year from suing the league over lost wages?

This isn't a court of law so I don't get that comparison. But just to play along people do get criminal sentences reduced all the time

This Ellington news really sucks. Picked him up in the 4th and then this happens smh. And on another team I had to deal with the Lacy stuff last night. Though I think he'll be alright for the Jets in 10 days, if he gets another concussion soon it'll be pretty bad

I had Julio & Ray Rice on a team last year and it seems like this year is picking up right where that one left off smh

:rolleyes

you wanted an explanation and it was given to you direct from sources.

nothing wrong with stashing him when he has a "chance" to play this season. in a 12 man league, IDC im NOT giving anyone an advantage to a top receiver in case he does come back. Its called being smart since anything can happen plus if he does come back it helps my team.

its all if he comes back, if he doesnt. i dont care. i didnt drop anyone worth keeping in the first place.

its called BEING SMART

guy im playing this week has Lacey and Ellington as his backs

Bruh, I dont care about your fantasy team or strategies. Have a seat.

Wasn't rotoworld the main site pushing Gordon to be stashed all summer anyway?

When it's all said and done, Gordon still has a DUI hanging over his head and will probably relapse again

its weed the NFL will finally realize that the beer they selling at these stadiums are worse than the weed these players are smoking.

i said it before if a player is showing up to work high its a different story but if dude doing it on his own time who cares.

even though i dont have gordon anymore i want to see him come back and cook (just not against me if we play) !

Look at  Phelps 7 Gold Medals as a swimmer that year at the olympics and he was blowing cannons

i dont care if he relapses or what he does.

rotoworld mentioned to have him stashed in case his suspension wasnt all 16 games :rolleyes what are you 12? dont you read the news on fantasy football that you are trying to speak on? otherwise you wouldnt be talking all reckless.

Damn, didnt realize people would get so worked up over this. People take this fantasy football thing seriously.

I understand the reasoning, i just dont thinks its a move worth making.

I put no stock into what the media is reporting, but thats just me.

Ray Rice was banned under an old rule that has since been updated and the NFL didn't lengthen his suspension, so why would they decrease others suspensions after a rule change?

BRUH

most people stashing Gordon aint dropping valuable players for him.

what are you getting worked up for? mad someone got to him before yall?

not anything to argue over.

Youre talking about apples and I'm referring to oranges.

I'm not against stashing the player, do whatever you feel gives you a competitve edge

All I'm saying is I doubt the NFL will reduce a punishment because a rule changed months later.

months later? you mean 2 weeks later tho

if they dont reduce his suspension, i doubt anyone will care. its about if they do, you got a star player...

theres a chance, its being reported everywhere. rotoworld isnt the one who came up with the news.

If my team had more than 3 bench spots, id pick up gordon.

I just dont think the NFL is trying to set that kind of precedent for an habitual weed smoker

I picked up Gordon in one of my leagues dropped Chris Ivory it was a no brainer. If he comes back I'm packaging a couple Wr's for a RB2 (only spot I'm weak at)

I stashed Gordon because I don't want anyone else to get him if he comes back, but I'm really skeptical. If they retroactively reduce or eliminate the suspensions then shouldn't Ray Rice be suspended 6 games now instead of 2?

I don't know about that one. RB's are extremely thin and I'm hearing good things about Ivory.

NEWS: Cardinals RB Andre Ellington will not need surgery on his injured foot, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ellington has reportedly been dealing with the foot issue for "a few weeks." The team believes it will heal on its own, but it's unclear how long that will take. Rapoport says there's "still a chance" Ellington plays on Monday night.

im sorry but once a suspension is handed out, you cant go back and increase the suspension  thats *** backwards and illegal.

now can suspensions be reduced? yes

when have you ever heard of a suspension be increased after it was handed out?

That's not logical. All these supsensions were handed out under policies and rules that were enforced at that point in time. They did not follow them and Gordon even lost an appeal. His suspension is more about his judgement and lack of adhering than it is about weed. And what his DUI? That can't help.

You don't go back and say Rice is out 6 games now because of a policy change, but why can you go back and forget that Gordon continually didn't follow the rules that were in place?
