OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

Need help guys..

Should i play Victor Cruz or put in Lamar Miller against BUF. NY Offense has been shakey from the jump and I dont trust that VC will get many thrown his way.

ALSO, do you guys think Minnesota DEF will do good against Brady and his shakey OLine? or should I take Tennessee against Romo?
im starting Cruz, hoping he can get off. if not, that giants offense really has no chance this year.

ill take a DEF against Romo vs a DEF against Brady any day. Dont sleep on Tennessee either, they have a really underrated Def

gotta start your studs. the o-line was overhauled and he might not put up last years #'s, but you gotta wait and see what he'll do

Standard League:
RB1 - McCoy
RB2 -
Flex -

What should I do:
- Zac Stacy vs TB for RB2 or Flex
- Sproles cuffed with McCoy for RB2 or Flex
- Hakeem Nicks vs Phi for Flex

or the questionable players:
- Cecil Shorts vs WAS for Flex
- J. Grimes vs OAK for Flex

Will Torrey Smith have a good night?
Steelers were 9th last year in passing YPG allowed.

Torrey saw 7 targets in Week 1 compared to Smitty's 15 and Pitta's 14. Then Flacco publicly states he believes Torrey can nab 100 balls a season.

Two games vs. Pittsburgh in 2013: 9/154/1.

Two games vs. Pittsburgh in 2012: 4/40/0.

Spiller vs. Dolphins or Colston vs. Browns @Flex?
I don't see Colston and Cooks getting off against Cleveland's corners. Spiller is the start against an average Miami run D.

Pick 2

Greg Olson
Brandin Cooks
Desean Jackson
Jeremy Maclin
I'm inclined to recommend D-Jax beating the Jags over the top and Mac9 winning his matchup against Indy, but how can you sit Olsen? Especially if Cam plays. He did play Detroit in 2011 and produced 3/23.

I'm recommending D-Jax and Maclin.

But its Brees and the Saints. Cooks isnt the main guy or even the 2nd target and Brees will spread the field

NO is good at getting people open

Jimmy brings in too much focus over that middle

you have to respect NO offense
Their value is heightened at home on turf.

Keenan Allen vs Seattle, or Justin Hunter vs Dallas? PPR league. This would be my flex, i have jeremy hill as well, dont think he's ready for flex work yet
Hunter. Normally wouldn't start him regularly in PPR formats, but I have a hunch he grabs his first TD.

drop sammy watkins for torrey smith?
Absolutely, do it fast.

PP and Cro are great as a corner tandem. Eli is adjusting to McAdoo's style and scheme. It's risky but I play Miller hoping Lazor gets him involved early and often at Buffalo.

With the two DEF choices provided, Tennessee is preferred. Zim's defense in Minny is getting better, but not to the extent of a regular starting fantasy defense.

Start Ivory or Joique at flex? Also have TY Hilton on bench. Standard scoring league.
Hilton, Ivory, Bell in that order.

Philly struggles with shiftier, smaller receivers now that I think about it. Hilton can expose Williams and Fletcher with his speed and elusiveness.

Ivory is a good start because GB's defense can be gashed on the ground, he's a workhorse type and Rex will pound the rock to try and control TOP at Lambeau.

Bell is a better PPR option, and sitting because Carolina is a tough draw for any RB.

Sproles' value lies in PPR, I'm not starting him with Shady. I would play Nicks but not expect much, I'm really low on Stacy. Cunningham was on the field for more snaps. Lovie's a defensive genius and Tampa has a strong front seven.

Neither Shorts or Grimes starts for me in any lineup this week.

champcruthik champcruthik would you start KC DEF against DEN?
Major pass. Johnson, anchor in the middle out for the season. B. Flo departed to San Diego. Marcus Cooper is a Rutgers guy, but you probably don't prefer him as your #2 corner. Smith is more a #2 than a #1 CB to begin with.

Abdullah is deputizing at safety for Lewis' departure to Houston. Outside of Houston and Hali on the edges, KC looking soft in the middle behind Poe.

What are your other options?

What is the consensus on Doug Martin right now?

Someone trying to trade him to me for either Fitz or TY most likely... Not sure how much I like DM this year...

I might take a chance on the Hilton offer, but Dougie is looking more like a RB2 than RB1. Tedford is RBBC so Rainey and James cut into his touches and overall production.

Just picked up Tennessee; looked like the better option to go with as far as match ups go. Repped

Good point about Tedford.  I'm probably gonna leave this one alone... I have Lacy/Forte/Ellington at RB still and Jordy/Roddy/TY/Fitz so I'mma hang tight I think.

I'd go Sproles and Nicks. Sproles looked really good in that first game...he's definitely gonna get his fair share of touches. Nicks surprisingly looked rejuvenated against the Broncos. Philly has a terrible secondary and it should be a high scoring game.

Damn, @ChampCruThik didn't know you were doing work in this thread, too

Wheaton tonight v. BAL

or

Colston Sun v. CLE

PPR.

Leaning toward Wheaton, but I think I just want action in tonight's game.

Got you, brotha. Do my best to remain active in the NT community, predominantly S&T.

Wheaton. His value is maximized in PPR formats, ideal Sanders replacement. Assuming Webb draws Brown's attention, Smith is a bigger, physical corner but Wheaton is shifty, elusive, and finds space. I'm seeing 6/60/potential TD.

Got offered Marshawn for Shane Vereen and Gronk in a PPR... Yes or No?

Brady

Gio, Vereen, PThomas, West, Michael, Forsett

Cobb, Patterson, Floyd, Tate, Nicks

Graham, Gronk

Just think it kinda gives me Flex issues...
