First things first, I have been a huge Cole fan since the Warm Up..  However, I feel that his career his been mismanaged pretty bad the last couple years.  He went from being a huge motivator to the masses with pretty good lyrics to go along with it.  With Born Sinner, he came with a huge curveball, with people either absolutely loving or hating it.  I myself took a couple months to get the concept.  Since the album, dude's been completely MIA.  For a while, I had him and Drake on even playing fields, with preference for Cole's lyrics though.  It seems that Cole is gonna be fading into mediocrity fast!  I'm all about not saturating the market with garbage mixtapes, but a leak every couple months would be nice!

Ummm he did the same approach last time and he sold like 300K opening week and 2 weeks later outsold yeezus, i think he'll be just fine....he dropped all those tracks for truly your's before born sinner....Kendrick is taking sAme appraoch, both will be fine!

nah chill b. All the work you do culminates to an album and then you do a video, do press, tour a lil bit... Why would he even do features if his fanbase was loyal enough to get him to 300k?

Plus producing most of your music has to be pretty time consuming, my guess is he's just getting ready for the next album.

^ I always thought the same thing. Friday Night Lights is still my favorite Cole project. but if only Cole saved the best tracks from The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights for his first album, he woulda had a classic debut IMO.

no lie drake work ethic is like no other. When cole and drake had yet to blow up i thought cole would have a bigger career, but drake came through and took over.

I'd rather him drop 5 song eps 2-3 times leading up to the album like usual. He's touring not hiding.

dropping 25 songs or so aint enough anymore? Been working for J Cole's sales

Being a producer is a big part of it.

He has to get it the way he wants to release something. Has to fit his idea, his vision.

I'm sure he has dozens of songs that he will never release because he doesn't know what he wants to do with them. If he releases them individually, then he's lost them forever in terms of using them for a bigger project/vision.

I'm already bored of dude's career. He has a lot of hardcore fans though, he'll be alright

I prefer when the artist makes themselves scarce as opposed to the constant stream of sameness that we get from a lot of these guys nowadays

I think J Cole may be donezo. It's going to take collabs with Jay or Yeezy to overcome his hiatus. J Cole needs to reach out to different artists instead of trying to do it on his own, although he has done a lot on his own.

otherwise, i think he may be donezo

I like his strategy. It makes me appreciate the work more when I finally get it and heighten the anticipation. Im straight on 30 song mixtapes and gettin new "freestyles" everyday. I guess Im just old school and still enjoy the aspect of not knowing too much or hearing too much until Im supposed to.
