Why does J Cole think hiding is gonna be good for his career?? Vol Milk Carton overdue

And I agree with whoever said that Music and Sports are the same / comparable. They are two totally different concepts.
The thing is it wasn't compared to all music. Just what rap has always been.

There's always winners and losers through the lens of rap.

Not hard to grasp and if you disagree I'd think you've been ignoring rap since the late 80s

So how do you determine who wins and looses in rap  ?

Ignoring rap since the late 80's? That has nothing to do with the gist of my post at all. Whether it's rap from the 80's, or 2014, the point is you can't prove who's "better" or who "won" in rap. Period. So with that, it can't be true "competition" there by negating the sports aspect of the art.

Cole needs to stop messing around and release this song already

Cole has kind of fallen off in my eyes, but I don't think it's due to his "hiding" approach.

I actually like the fact that he isn't on every song. Same thing Frank Ocean has been doing since Channel Orange.

not sure what u mean with the FO comment. cuz to my knowledge, Frank hasnt done ANYTHING since dropping that album. I havent heard of or seen him ONCE since...

he did a song for Django (although it didn't make it to the film), and he has a few songs here and there since CO

Popular fan consensus. Word to KRS-One vs. MC Shan and goes on from there in different variations from album sales to other means of success. Of course after a while that's got twisted and has mainly focused on being "relevant" as a catch all.

Again this isn't hard to grasp. I'm just thinking yall dudes are brand new to rap or something.

Your point kinda just ignores rap history for the most part. @ there not being "true competition" in rap. That statement alone completely flies in the face of hundreds of rappers in like 40+ years of rap who've said it themselves.

I remember tryna explain this to dude a while ago. It really ain't that hard to understand. Of course it's not scoreboard to determine who's better but Hip Hop has always been competitive. "I'm better than you, I rap better than you, I got more money" whatever. I just chalk it up as these dudes just started listening to Hip Hop in the mid 2000's.

How does that work?

Does he just tweet the location and everybody gotta run to it
Yeah, but the way they give out the tickets is kinda random, at least it was last year.

Early tomorrow morning he'll announce on his twitter the time and venue.  Then couple 100 people will ascend to the location only to be given no timetable for how long they'll wait.  Last year I went on my lunch break at 4, finessed a move to the front of the right line, and had my tickets after waiting about 10 minutes.  Saw some of my boys down there and they'd been there for hours.  There was a ton of girls that had been there for 7 hours+ and saw me get my wristband and were ******* LIVID

.  Demand was so high that they ended up adding another show right after the first.

Managed to swindle my way into the second show too

.  First one he brought out Bas and Hov was in the building, second one he brought out Drake.  I'd say if you can make it tomorrow, you definitely should.

I'll keep this thread posted soon as I hear details in the morning.  Also, keep in mind it's supposed to be raining all day tomorrow.

Wow if u were able to skip I'm surprised it didn't get ugly with other people tryna bust tht same move

Idk if I'm with that long wait

Ill be waiting with a backpack and umbrella in Union Square Park by Noon tomorrow. He did it at Irving Plaza which is a block away last yr. All the venues in NYC are either right there down town or in times square so I'll hop in a cab and go on-ward from when he tweets it.

Holy ****.

I live right off 23rd I'm blocks from Union Square AND Irving Plaza.

Are the tickets free? Would I be standing in line to BUY tickets or GET tickets?

Once they announce the venue you gotta get there ASAP. Then, stand in line and pay $1 for a wristband/ticket. You come back to the venue later, show the wristband, and you're good. No wristband=not getting in. I went last year and it was complete chaos so im passing on this. Hundreds of people were literally running on the streets around Irving Plaza in the middle of traffic trying to find the line. I aint got time for that. He put on a great show so if you got the time and patience its worth it. Enjoy!
