The Official Mortal Kombat X Thread (KOMBAT PACK 2 AVAILABLE NOW FOR PSN & XBL)

Is it me or is MK 10 shaping up to be more like an MK 9.5 with all these MK 1-3 characters returning. So much for all these new characters we were going to get

Not that it matters since I'm all about the classic characters anyways.

Man, with MK's horrible rap sheet of characters after 3 I don't mind all the retuning characters at all

Yeah the old crew wasnt good at that and I think the new team knows that they are doing good so far but the were talking about at least 8 new characters so we shall see

Those comics are terrible. Cheesy dialogue. Weird encounters. Hell, everything but the art is abysmal.

Ed Boon and the rest of the MKX developers have a delicate balance to maintain.

Introduce new characters in the Mortal Kombat series to keep it fresh and add new blood (pun intended

), yet at the same time retain characters that have been a staple of the series since it's inception.

Imagine a Mortal Kombat game without Scorpion and/or Sub Zero? I'm pretty sure at least one of them has been in every MK game.

I think you're last sentence sums up perfectly how most MK fans feels about what characters make it in the game.

Here's the thing though, this isn't SF where ryu, is ryu , is ryu.... The MK characters always change both in move set and appearance. Even though it's the same characters, for the most part, it's only by name and specific signature moves. Capcom could learn something from these guys

The street fighter games play differently but the moves are the same.

MK feels like a complete overhaul every single time

Yea, NRS always manages to keep things fresh in every new installment.

SF was going the right direction with III but with the fall of the arcade scene it was a "failure" in the books. 3rd strike > any version of 4

I cant keep up with all the 8 different versions of every game that Capcom makes. Couldnt tell which is which. They are truly The EA/Ubisoft of the far east.

At least they had an excuse when DLC wasnt a thing. Now I am never buying a game from them. Keep selling incomplete games like MvC3 and releasing the "Ultimate" version a year later.

Third Strike is the GOAT Street Fighter yet is the most hated by their "fans" its jarring to say the least.

WRONG.

Umvc3 came out 9 months later

Well at that time if it wasn't "pick up and play" ready nobody wanted any part of it. Also that game was brutal with its skill gap. Whoever was better will win 100% of the time. Of course everyone who loses will "hate" the game

I for one LOVE that. I hate comeback features, and everything else of the sort. The better player should win EVERYTIME.

High Voltage" developing PS3/Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X

As we've known for some time now that NetherRealm Studios is focusing all of their efforts towards the next-gen technology by developing Mortal Kombat X for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Considering the game is also coming out for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, this raised some concerns as far as "who is developing the other versions then?" and "should we be worried?".

It is being reported (and I can't remember if this was already known or not) that the same developers who ported Injustice: Gods Among Us to Playstation 4 and PC, "High Voltage", are also the ones developing the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X. To put everyone's minds at even more ease, this is also being reported:

"High Voltage is our partner focused on developing the PS3/360 and the team is giving those versions its full attention. All platforms for this game are built on NetherRealm’s tech with oversight from the NetherRealm."
Kitana's 3 Variations and X-ray Descriptions
Kitana's three variations are:
1) Assassin: (Mask On)
- great for rush-down attacks,
- Kitana moves faster across the arena and hits harder at close range.
2) Royal Storm: (No Mask + Glowing Hair Sticks)
- zoning kombat,
- Kitana can create fan lift waves and launch them at her opponent.
3) Mournful: (Jade's Staff)
- using Jade's glaive and staff Kitana has better versatility and range to attack.

Kitana's X-Ray is described as a pretty nasty attack!

Looking forward to the livestream.

I gotta say, the fighters addressing each other directly before the match is a nice touch for MKX.
