Will these "Sunset" 5's break down fast if I buy them??

I'm thinking about buying these for my sister, but I don't want them to break down quickly if I buy them. She's just gonna be wearing them casually but these were released back in 2006, so I'm not sure how 8 year old shoes will hold up. I recently bought myself the Women's aqua 8's from 2007,  they don't seem like they're gonna break down anytime soon, but I've only worn them once so far. Please give me your opinions & advice!
