Official: Jordan Retro IV Oreo Thread 2/21/2015 (UPDATES ON PG 1)

You must be one of those extremely critical shoe collectors. I'm not talking down on it though. Could you, perhaps, list/explain the reasons that would make cop or pass on any sneaker? I never understood it personally, so I thought I'd ask.
I've been "collecting" since early 2000s. I was spoiled by OG's and earlier retro's and that's why I don't and can't cop any recent Jordans. That's just me, What others do, that's them but I ATLEAST understand history of and about these kicks.
In order for me to buy a shoe, it have to make me irressistable to them, make me get goosebumps like some French 12s (mmmm) but just this specific model, Oreos, didn't have the wow factor to me. Nothing more, nothing less. The Columbia's IVs tho, those are nice when I checked my friend's pair.

@JoeJues, yes, I actually believed they were gonna make me fly and be like Mike.. Or that the green I worked for, would atleast be of value for the money spent. Maybe you got money to splurge and the way how you use YOUR money is YOUR thing. I loved Jordans, but this purchase was a spur of the moment. And if I wanted high quality, sure, get GUCCI but GUCCI ain't Jordans. Or atleast they give quality bang for your buck.

Who's complaining? It's my story of the Oreos. I'm not discouraging anyone not to get them. You feel some type of way that Jordans are still that great to defend them?

Must say I was fully prepared to completely pass on this release despite me really like the color way being an everyday kind of shoe. Was just gonna wait until I got lucky finding them at South Chi outlet for $159.99. Stopped at my HOH purely out of curiosity to see what all this "remastered" talk was about, I left with two pairs. The quality is definitely an improvement but that's not what sold me.

I actually got to try these on and for the first time since the Snakeskin 11 lows last year these didn't destroy my feet and dare I say are pretty comfortable. That was the biggest selling point for me. First purchase in quite a while with no buyers remorse at all...

U can't please everybody. JB said they don't have the OG molds anymore Which basically means they're never gonna be on that same level. Nobody thought shoes were gonna get like this, collectors items. They will always differ now cuz how would you tell them apart same as gun Collectors. Especially if re-releases are more frequent. People will age them to make the gun look older etc. nobody is gonna dismantle the entire shoe. take it how it is our wait 10 years between each retro rerelease but them you'd have people complaining about that too. Now u have OGs, retros, retro+ and remastered retros that are all pretty distinguishable. cuts Confusion if somebody wants to cash in down the line. And it's serious since the Lil kid cashed in his flu games for 250k.

Never Noticed the Plastic Wings on these .... compared to Leather on LB

not sure which i like better

Still trying to figure out why people complain about shoes creasing? It's a shoe. You wear them, they bend (or should), and they crease. What is the big deal? Idk just don't why people feel the need to bash something and cry and complain. I'd say these people are the people that buy a shoe just because everyone else is and feel left out if they didn't get a pair and then proceed to return them. Buy a shoe you like, not to try to fit in or impress anyone else. Not directing toward anyone just making that clear before anyone gets feelings hurt haha

Seems like some people that are posting aren't being realistic, these are NIKE JORDANS, not Mason Martin Margellia, not Louboutin, and not even Y-3. Even if you check out the prices for domestic made New Balances, there quite high. I own a few pairs, some are very nice, others are so-so and about equal to my Jordan BOB that I picked up last week. These are mass produced, over-seas in areas that aren't glamorous and aren't known for there craftsmanship and attention to detail. It is what it is. To keep the pricing down and for Nike to make its intended profit, those are the circumstances. Most are satisfied with the first 5 remastered sneakers, for the extra 5$ to 15$ or whatever the exact increase was (we don't have a direct comparison and prices were naturally gonna increase) we have gotten plush/softer leather, thicker cuts of leather, increased attention to detail, better molds and fit. Unless we opt for a major increase, 50-75$ more at a minimum in pricing, this is what we will continue to receive. The 4's are my favorite silhouette so I have a few pairs laying around for comparison. My Toros feel like cardboard and the red dye has bleed on occasion. My Fear 4's are insanley dope, but the neubuck is so garbage and thin, and the hairs so short, u get scratches, marks, blemishes that u cant brush out. There fragile. My white/cement 4s feel like plastic, I love the simplicity of the shoe and the other way but its sheer garbage. So these Oreo 4s, while not perfect, are pretty damn nice. the cuts of the leather is almost twice that of the white cement. They feel durable, the tumbled leather unblemished, and though I smell the faint smell of glue I don't see any on the midsole/sole. overall I'm a happy customer. I don't know, certainly some of you got some bad pairs, and you have the right to be upset but I think that is the exception. if we want higher quality than this, there will be consequence. Either pay (alot) more for one of the luxury brands that I mentioned, or be ready for more expensive sneakers in smaller quantity that are extremely hard to get a hold of and because of circumstance will exclude most of the customers that would like to purchase. and even if you opt for the luxury brands you will still occasionally encounter imperfections.

So... You think the leather is not real?
Yoo yeah the leather doesn't feel genuine  to me. Just by touching it it feels like synthetic tumble leather and it doesn't have the same feel to like a nice leather sneaker. JB trying to pass garbage leather as "premium" but i can still feel the ****** leather quality. Regardless of the leather im still attracted to this colorway so ima cop.

. Dude literally said he brings a duffle bag of shoes whenever he goes out just to prove that he has the shoes.... I feel sorry for the cats out there that actually look up to him and take him seriously.

I don't believe they don't have the original molds. Blueprints, sketches, whatever, with technology these days I don't believe they can't make molds like the original. But again I have no knowledge on molds haaahaahaaaa
