Official: Jordan Retro IV Oreo Thread 2/21/2015 (UPDATES ON PG 1)

Thanks everyone. Repped.

I personally thought it was that open gap allowing the leather to crease down and scrape my pinky toe so you either have to get even more space or no space at all. But I'll give it a couple more wears. Just wondering if people had it snug or open

This "Remastered" Treatment Is Almost Laughable :smh:

Helped A Buddy Secure His Pair From NDC And When I Opened Em Yesterday All I Could Do Was

There's Nothing "BUTTER" About The Leather Used On These At All. Definitely Relieved I Didn't Sell Either Of My '99's!

This New Material Bends Like Rubbermade Garbage Cans :x

I don't get it. Is leather not supposed to....bend?

Thought this was the Oreo 4 thread..... Oreo 4s seem to be better overall than the columbias and I have both.

I tried on my Columbias and they creased instantly. The Oreos didn't and I walked around in them a bit in my house.

The Pic Was Used As A Reference J, We All Know What Thread This Is.... Same Plasticy Leather Used On The Oreos

It's Not A Matter Of Not Bending.... It's How The Material Reacts To These Bends.

My Man Clark's Pair Of Columbia's Looks Like He Caught An Axe To Both His Big Toes :x

I went tts, 9.5, I have my cg and why/red in a 9 and they are a little snug around my pinky toe and after a couple of hours it starts to hurt. My blk/reds are a 10 and they have a lot of room and my foot is swimming. With the Oreos I find them to fit real nice, snug but not to tight which gives some room.

I'm saying.... Huh?
My example gave the situation of the bending for both shoes. They react differently for sure.

I'm not saying this remastered stuff gimic is awesome. I'm just saying these Oreos are pretty solid.

I've Held Both In Hand Myself As Well.... Material Seemed Identical To Me, But Hey, That's Just My Opinion

I Have All Three '99 Releases (Doubles In Oreos) To Compare Them To As Well.....

My Point Was That I Personally Was Unimpressed By The "Remastered" Treatment, Which Was For Me A Let Down As I Was Looking Forward To These.

Not Looking To Argue Or Take Shots At Anyone That Truly Enjoys These

i thoought good leather is suppose to crease. the cut isnt thick tho, thats obvious

Again, Leather Is Definitely Supposed To Crease, You're Right About That... It's The Manner In Which The Material Creases Or "Drapes" That Hints At Its Quality.

Good Leather Creases And Wrinkles.... This New Stuff Folds Way Differently

Compare This Crease From My '99s To The One Above For Example....

@So Much Sole 23- Only way to avoid the bending and the materials' "reaction" to it is to not wear them. If you know the general history and characteristics of a shoe made with actual leather, you would know that bending and creasing inevitably occurs. And for the record the leather used on these IS buttery in comparison to the synthetic leather JB has used in the recent past. I.E Fire Red 5s etc. You obviously have no idea what your talking about and are so used to wearing synthetic leather shoes (that don't bend), that you don't recognize when you actually have a well made leather shoe. Leather is supposed to bend and crease not the other way around. Basically you have it backwards.

I know I'm going to hear it for this being my first post but whatever..
First of all there is zero point in comparing leather quality with og, that quality in leather will not be seen again because of changes made in how it must be produced. JB made this clear when they released the "remastered" info... They were going to do their best to make the shoes as close as possible in quality, mold, and colour but there is only so much you can do. Yes the cut should have been thicker but these (oreos) are miles ahead of what has been released the past few years.

And as far as that picture of the Columbia's bending... There is snow on the ground so it is obviously cold out. All materials including leather will act differently in colder temperatures science 101, obviously the leather will be stiffer. These new kicks are butter, period.

A Respectable First Post :nthat:

Like I Said, I'm Not Looking To Rain On Anyone Else's Parade, I Was Just PERSONALLY Disappointed With The Attempt To Remaster These. Your Point About The Cold Is A Very Good One.

Appreciate You Sharing Your Thoughts And Welcome :nthat:
