Official: Jordan Retro IV Oreo Thread 2/21/2015 (UPDATES ON PG 1)

That's the million dollar question. I was really skeptical on getting these because of midsole issues. So far they have passed the test. I have worn them for three straight days heavily in cold weather with no chipping of cracks whatsoever. If they hold up I'm going have to get a third pair before the market dries cause JB went all out on these
This! The only 4's I had issues with cracking/paint chipping where the black cements. Decided to sell my second pair so I can grab these. I must say I made good decision getting these.

I dont have the Oreos (yet) but I had major issues with the bred cracking and minor peeling/cracking issues with the Military Blues/fire reds. I got the Columbia's and they do seem better built throughout the midsole, and holding up firm so far

Speckle Density.

Size 18 has officially been topped. I need to start being more active in Retro threads

On closer examination, I realized that although the stitching, glue, etc. are all flawless, there's major symmetry issues between the two shoes that I find extremely irritating now that I notice it.  First, the toe box is much wider on the right shoe that the left; probably at least 0.5cm.  the pic isn't that great (first one) as it looks like it might just be the camera angle, but it's not.  You can also see that the toe wraps up higher on the left than the right.  Overall, the left shoe is a much nicer shape.

Very noticeable in the 2nd pic is space from the midsole.  The speckles are also a different density, but not that bad....It's these general shape issues that are really bad.  With the shoe in hand you can also see that the tongue space between the toe box and the laces is also longer on the right shoe.  It's as though the two lines working on the left and right show were working from completely different design specs/molds.

Hopefully over time I'll forget these details (unlikely!)...or at least enough that when I look down it won't irritate me like it currently does.  I know they're made in China, etc., but for remastered workmanship, and the overall quality of every other aspect of the shoe, I expect the shape to at least have much better symmetry....

I've noticed toe box shape/symmetry issues on other shoes I have, including retro Jordans and Air Max, however, this seems more than usual, and given how much I love this overall shoe, I'm a little disappointed.  If they were in stock, I'd take them back and search for a better matching pair....oh well....Still the best retro Jordan pickup ever for me.....I guess I can't expect perfection....

Interestingly enough...

After further birdman-esque hand rubbing and admiration/contemplation of my pair I came across the following 1/1 rarity.

Take note of the let-it-breath perforations.

Before we start, overall, the entire left shoe had huge perforations, the right had small. Saul Goodman, my feet sweat at different outpourings anyway. I initially looked at this as simply bespoked 4's. Tinker, my ninja..

Fast forward to the following..

Perforations all over the place. Certainly not symmetrical, one pair has them where I assume they should be. The other, right next to the cut of the next piece of leather.

(Kanye Boost shrug)

Shout to Rea Mazture, I really do love these mugs!!!!

size 18 was a classic

In regards to the quality, how do you guys feel the midsoles will fare?

Do you think the midsoles will crack/chip easily? I've been looking at my pairs and trying to inspect the midsoles, and the craftsmenship on mine seems so good that it doesn't even look like the midsoles were painted on.

I have been wearing mine since release in the sun..heat..cold..snow..rain..slush.. no signs of cracking yet

Should have picked up either these or the columbia's.. the quality looks on point especially compared to all the iv's i copped in 2012..looks like I'll be turning to eBay to find my pair

Go to ur local foot locker Champs or FA.. stock locate a apair.. even call NIkE.COM theyll stock locate a pair then have that Nike store ship them to u

I dont lol
me neither. good lord JB is probably kicking themselves for upping leather quality. these kids are doing nothing but complaining about tumbling not being EXACTLY the same throughout. jesus Christ.

they ain't ready. if JB is going to keep raising prices through the roof they should have just kept catering to the newer generation.

Dude was on Twitter last night. Only 17 years old and said all pairs go to Asia.

When I worked at footlocker a few years ago a guy would come in and buy out our entire stock of free runs and send them to Asia. He did it multiple times. Those commission checks were nice.

Cmon guys. We can stop posting the stocks of resale pairs. It doesn't help at all and creates no positivity on any level.
