Kobe X Official Thread Elite Series ‘Elite Team’ April 18th, ‘Elevate’ May 15th, ‘Rose Gold’ June 5

I don't see that as ignorant. If Curry was with nike and they released the same exact shoe but with a swoosh, watch the beasts come out of the woodwork...

I believe it. The Kyrie thread was real quiet. Lots of people questioned why he even got a sig. Dreams sell out and all of a sudden there are tons of fans. Just simply judging off their performances and popularity this season, imagine if Steph and Kyrie switched brands? Curry's would be flying off shelves and Kyrie's would be Spalding Jimmer, Peak Battier, Brand Black J.Crossover irrelevant. K not that bad but the swoosh definitely helps

*Edit - Not hating on anyone who's coming around to Kyrie's (or any nike sig for that matter), it's just my opinion that the fact that they're Nike's gives them so much more exposure so it's bound to change minds. With brands like UA, if you don't like a sig out the gates, you probably never give that model a second look.

Knowledge right here. Even Macklemore knows the swoosh got us brainwashed...

I buy Nikes and Js but my go to ball shoes has been the UA bloodlines. I wish they continued Jennings' line :smh: Oh and you can get em for less than a $100 too :smokin

So every signature sneaker that Nike put out is in high demand?

Chris Paul?

DWade?

Melo?

Put a Swoosh and Shozoku logo on the UA Curry One and call them the Kobe 2K4 retro and ya'll hating on them would change your tune :smh: Don't knock it til you try it.
100% true. I would never wear those UAs if they were given to me for free because they look like garbage with laces. Now if they perform great thats another story because I don't buy new shoes to go hoop in em, usually an old shoe from my rotation gets designated as a beater and then they'll get played in or worn for work. Of course I would buy them if they were 2k4s becuase I love 2k4s and the Nike swoosh has a lot to do with it, its an aesthetically superior logo when placed on the side of a shoe, those Dave white Jordan 1s looked horrible without a swoosh as did those Jordan 1s that used a jumpman instead of a swoosh. The UA just doesn't fit well on a shoe, the Jordan XX9 method of just slapping a huge logo on the side doesnt lend itself to the UA.

 Jordan signatures dont count. Those are ALWAYS turrible. Im sure he's speaking about Nike signature athletes Lebron, Kobe, KD and Kyrie.

I think they jumped the gun on kyrie. Harden, Westbrook, and Love were all more deserving than him at the time.

No, because that means appearance matters. Which goes against the argument.

Why wasn't the KD in demand until the IV? The price was always cheap and it was still a Nike.

Appearance matters

The charged foam in the Currys are butter. Plush when just standing around and more rigid when actually moving and jumping. It's basically what I wish lunarlon was. For 120 they are great kicks.

The Clutchfit Drive might be the best basketball shoe I've ever played in. I like what makes my feet feel good after 3 hrs of hoops multiple times a week. Doesn't matter if it's Anta or Lining, so I'll state that here now.

I'm I'm the minority who love the Lebron 12 and the LB X elite was the last shoe from nike I absolutely loved. I liked the Kobe 8 when they were brand new but the lack of longevity turned me off eventually. Passed on all 9s for hat reason. The Xs, from everything I've read and heard, appear to have a denser lunarlon similar to Micro G seen in UAs clutchfit. Whether it's as good we will have to see and when I get them in I can write a review, but yall are blinded by the brand if you think Nike has been putting out the best hoops shoes the past year and a half.

There's nothing wrong with brand loyalty. I'll admit it's weird when I even think about buying other brands now since I stayed true to the swoosh for so long. But their business model is such that they give the consumer the minimal, market the hell out of it, slap an athlete to it, and then increase prices each year. At some point, that bubble bursts and I don't know if it'll even happen in my lifetime lol, but some competition will do it right and challenge at least the basketball side of things one day.

^For what it's worth, the lunarlon they used in the 9s was already denser than the one they used in the 8s. Don't know if you gave the 9s a try at all, but they've seemed to hold up better over time. Not sure how it compares to Micro G though.

Played in the Kobe 10's for about 3 and a half hours today. Its a great comfortable shoe. I at first felt reluctant to make sharp cuts in them because they don't feel as low to the ground but after a while I never even noticed it. The zoom in the heel makes it super comfortable when landing after a dunk or blocked shot. Overall im pretty impressed with these.
9s or 10s?

Yup. I put my 9 insole into the 8.

The 9s are perfect for me and I'm hoping the 10s can measure up.

I actually have a 9 insole from the elite highs I bought that I took out and put lebron 11 insoles into. Will the elite high 9 insole fit in the 8s? If so imma have to give them a shot.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Xs, which is funny. I didn't like the blandness of some of the designs but if they perform like I've heard then maybe they will be my go-to. Got a league starting in a few weeks so it'd be perfect timing, as well.

The 9 insole will fit into an 8, but it becomes a snugger fit because the insole is a bit thicker. I haven't had the Xs long enough to tell how the lunarlon forefoot compares to the lunarlon on the 9s, but either way, it should last longer than the 8s.

those UA are whack lol

Dont knock em till you try em, they look decent but perform like a beast, but I digress

Finally tried these on and i like the cushioning, they mad comfy, but they completely lost all the court feel from the 8's and 9's

The material is cheeks tho, I experienced the same weird flex and it does hurt your feet, no lie these flyknit pairs need to release asap

I felt it on the forefoot, where the shoe flexes

Vino and prob Blackouts for me, then onto flyknits, I just wanna find a way to avoid that pain from the shoe awkwardly flexing, ima try sizing up

Edit: i was wearing normal nike socks long

Tomorrow can't get here soon enough... does FL usually open early on Saturdays? I always order online, but it looks like my local FL is getting them and I need them for hooping tomorrow.

My FTLs usually open at 10 am -- not sure if it's similar across the country

ASG look awesome in person. I actually think the silver tongue is a good look.

I know most people like shoes that "are an extension of the foot," but I think for basketball, I'm finding that I really like these shoes with the stiffer upper. I think my feet feel more locked in with the shoe. I love the Kyrie 1, and I really like the Kobe X so far from the one time I've shot around in them. There's so much tech in the Kobe X and they're super comfortable.

Not saying I don't like the flyknit uppers, because the Kobe 9 highs might be one of my favorite shoes of all time, but these might be better performance-wise. The EM Kobe 9's performed just as good as the flyknits in my opinion.

No fear of the peeling? That's my only concern. I probably won't hoop in them. They do look great and I am starting to turn on these. Especially at $180 shipped.
