Kobe X Official Thread Elite Series ‘Elite Team’ April 18th, ‘Elevate’ May 15th, ‘Rose Gold’ June 5

Are we allowed to have the opinion that those steph currys are garbage without being called a brainwashed sheep? I mean cot damb they are not appealing. I'm sure they do perform well but guess what? So do many other shoes from many other brands that are better looking.

No fear of the peeling? That's my only concern. I probably won't hoop in them. They do look great and I am starting to turn on these. Especially at $180 shipped.

I have the 5AM Flight pair. My friend bought the ASG over the weekend and they are sick though.

Haha I mean everyone has different tastes...In older Kobe shoe threads people would say "I don't care how these look, they'll be PERFORMANCE BEASTS!"

We all need to admit a little bit that we're just biased to our favorite players haha.

100% true. I would never wear those UAs if they were given to me for free because they look like garbage with laces. Now if they perform great thats another story because I don't buy new shoes to go hoop in em, usually an old shoe from my rotation gets designated as a beater and then they'll get played in or worn for work. Of course I would buy them if they were 2k4s becuase I love 2k4s and the Nike swoosh has a lot to do with it, its an aesthetically superior logo when placed on the side of a shoe, those Dave white Jordan 1s looked horrible without a swoosh as did those Jordan 1s that used a jumpman instead of a swoosh. The UA just doesn't fit well on a shoe, the Jordan XX9 method of just slapping a huge logo on the side doesnt lend itself to the UA.

I agree that the swoosh just works well as a design element, it's shaped kinda like a foot. For example dame lillard's shoe would look much better with a swoosh instead of all that dead space on the side. Just been very disappointed with nike's quality lately. Lebron xi, kobe 8, xx8...just some shoes I've personally hooped in that had potential but came up short especially for the price. I've tried the anatomix spawn low and I'll definitely be picking up those curry one when they drop more colorways

You forgot to put "GOGOGOGOGO"

Yeah, I don't think people trust Jordan Brand's performance standards for the most part. Most are only interested in retros anyway.

I've only played in the 1st torch and charge bb low, from UA. They both felt great out of the box but they just didn't hold up for me. The charge bb mesh started tearing after a couple of wears and the torch stretched out of shape and lost all support after after a couple of hours of playing as well. Their newer shoes could be a lot better but I can't try them at the moment.

I used to hate the Nike Logo as a kid. I think I hated logos in general but the Nike logo always bothered me because Nike logo is pretty prominent on most of their shoes. I turned when the Foamposite Ones came out. Then I started putting up with the logo a little bit more. Even now I sometimes blackout the Nike logo on some of my shoes or buy shoes where its only on the back.

All of those have one thing in common. Jordan brand sig shoes don't sell.

but a lot of Kobe's, Lebron's and KD's didn't sell until they started looking better.

The KD line sat and sat until the IV.

Most people didn't care about general release Lebron's until the 7.

I didn't even know KD had a shoe until the IV  I remember looking for the first 3 then I understood why. Did any colorway from his first 3 shoes sell out?

Kds shoes were priced under $100 i believe when he first started.  not that any of us like price hikes,  but i dont recall any shoe under 100 doesnt selling out for basketball

I wouldn't even buy KD's cheap from the outlet

Some people liked them, but I still don't see it

That's why I think some people up here buy signature sneakers just to say they were with them from day one.

I've liked and been fans of players, but I've never liked a player enough to buy an ugly sneaker.

And the KD IVs were up there with the Kobe VII in terms of discomfort, but it had sone fire *** colorways.

Like them Kyrie 1s. That shoe has nothing that will make it unique in the coming years. Its just going to be another shoe. Some cats going crazy with them in IDs. Its not anything special imo. Peeps going to regret coppin more than just one pair.

This is how I felt about the zoom generations at first.

Word. I dont give 2 short and curlys about professional athletes or sports, I simply buy shoes because of their aesthetic appeal. I had the Lebron 1-4 then I hated the 5 and 6 and nothing about the 7s made me wanna buy them, grabbed the 8s and 9s skipped 10s and bought 1 pair of XIs. I have no loyalty to a player to buy every one of their shoes just because. I hated the Kobe 2, 3, 4 and 5. But I love every shoe from the 6 until now.

Kyries are so garbage  look like they should be 44.99

Im on both sides of the fence here. I personally feel that this is a good time to buy them and store them because Kyrie will continue to improve and could have a chance of being the next "it" player of the league. Really depends on how hard he works and if he is willing to change his game. If he does that I think his shoe line will really take off and people will be sitting on some valuable pairs of Kyrie 1's.

Not that your opinion is wrong, this is just how I kinda see it.

I agree with you with him as a player. He could be great one day and people might be looking at the Kyrie 1's like how they look at the Jordan 1's. Highly doubt it tho.

But as far as looks for the shoe today they are just another b-ball shoe to me.

I agree. I think people were sleeping on Kyries. It seems like with the release of the ASG's more and more people are starting to see how dope the shoe really is. I gotta admit... at first I wasnt a fan. But after rocking them, I was really impressed with how comfortable they are. They look great on feet and at that price my wallet isn't complaining. This is just from a casual perspective by the way.

Has anyone worn the shoes to play basketball and can they comment on the transition, traction, and impact protection (if you're on the heavier side like 180+)? I'm really thinking of getting these from some of the few earlier performance reviews, including those from Weartesters.

BTW, still waiting for KickGenius to review these.

KD's garbage shoes literally broke his feet. Jokes aside Nike literally makes some of the worst shoes on the market. Their athletic plastics are absolutly horrible.

Jb has THE worst design team ever it seems. Not once have they done something right. No mystery why they need 30 year old shoes to make their money. The new stuff is horrible.
