So did Nas drop The Lost Tapes 2 on the sly?

It's pretty good. One thing that tells me it's not nas is the subject matter. Even with all the references and nas like lyrics, the context and full subject matter isn't what nas would talk about (based on all his other work). It's sort of unclear at times.

Whether I would listen to another project... The music is really good, have to give it up to the production and beat selection. I have no problems, but the lines about mansions and money put a lot of "rap" expectations on him. Like is he real? If nas rapped these things I would accept it, knowing how much to hit a mark, etc. my rap logic however would be disappointed if dude is some cat in his parents basement.

But it's all about how he evolves as a rapper. .. Remember when people said Eminem sounded like Nas?...

That was a little different because Em was just emulating the structure of Nas and AZ's raps.

This guy sounds like he's trying to steal the identity of '95 Nas.

This whole concept is kind of crazy to me. The man sounds identical to 95 nas to the point where people get em mixed up, this is the same people who talk about wanting the game to sound a certain way, but ya'll dismiss people who can actually make music that is in line with those era's

This is the same thing that happened to NOE, dude was NICE, and he got thrown away simply because he sounded like jay (00-03) Jay to be exact.

Yeah NOE was a legit rapper but we all know why Jim put him on the team

And here's another new track from Your Old Droog:

It's gotta be Nas.

Too many references for me to think otherwise.

"Tryna build a jungle gym behind the crib, so they can enjoy youth... the little duns." (a reference to a Mobb Deep lyric from "Quiet Storm")

"Never heard of Tech N9ne, but they seen a tech nine." ("pullin a tech out the dresser, police got me under pressure" from "Represent" on Illmatic)

"The kid is pipin Pitchfork and Fader ****, taking them to Trader Joe's." (How many time has Nas referred to himself as The Kid?)

And so on...

Bruh... you must've not heard the lyric.

He was talking about not knowing the independent label game when he came in. Slug has Rhymesayers Entertainment and has done well. Nas just started up Mass Appeal Records which is an indie label.

Also on the Old Droog EP he says Illmatic and some other obvious references that Nas uses.

The voice is just too similar. Then again he says things Nas wouldn't say but that would be perfect for throwing people off in the first place. And now he magically decides to have a show after all this time? So I'm just playing the wait and see game with this.

Honestly I hope it is Nas....because it sounds like he hasn't lost a step at all and the production suits him perfectly.

Though the fallout from Droog actually being a Russian kid from Coney Island sounds entertaining too

sounds like NaS, but whn you've listened to almost every song he's come out with you can tell the difference. although it is a very small difference in the similarities that's not NaS

I don't care who this is. Sounds good to me. I kinda hope it is some random Russian dude.

Bronson 2.0??? :nerd:

If this isnt nas, whoever it is should keep his identity secret and drop an actual album. Hypes a hell of drug.

:smh:

This old pretenda-Nas *** ***** here...

Dude had me going, believing this charade too. Grand opening, grand closing. FOH.

They should throw **** at him at his show. Seriously bit Nas's whole flow.

Yeah he really is that "random white dude" in the picture  That's hilarious....staring people right in the face the whole time, had me questioning it every time.

I'll still listen to his material though.

If the music is good, who cares?
To me, the similarity is too much. Like with Bronson there's a number of differences which stand out between him and Ghost. This guy is literally cut and paste Nas. Subject matter, flow, cadence the whole 9. He's going to have a hard time trying to shine. If I want to listen to Nas, I listen to Nas.
