So did Nas drop The Lost Tapes 2 on the sly?

If nothing else, the buzz about Droog should tell Nas he needs to try to get that tin ear fixed and get on some similar production.

Imagine the real Nas dropping some **** in 2014 with the production from Droog's EP.  That was like 75% of the excitement for me--I thought maybe Nas finally got it right again after all these years of questionable beat choices.  Nope.

Yo it's not about change of heart but like...the subject matter doesn't match this guy. If you hear his raps it's about 80s times and heavy money now because he did something that made him successful. When it was nas in our minds, it was real, it's cool to hear nas rap about knots in his pockets and fly women cuz he paid dues for 10-20 years in the game. Which is the perspective this guy makes all his raps on, yet he is just a regular cat that looks like he was barely born in the 80s if not 90s kid.

Okay so he's tracing the lines and then coloring it in with his own crayons.

Point is he's blatantly copying Nas' whole life force. There is literally nothing original about this guy as a rapper.

Its not Nas. Dude ain't gonna last long if he continues with his bitten style. Who knows how long this project was in the works.

yo this kid is super nice..yea he sounds like Nas..but that mold will break when he really catches a buzz

Catching a buzz? His buzz is solely off of stealing someone else's style. He's not his own man. I can't respect it.

Felt this way about Action but dude was co-sign by legends so I still listen. It's a different era, dudes who father the styles are now called "irrelevant" while dudes who copy are celebrated. It's sad and disgusting.

But you can tell the difference between an Action track and a Ghostface track. You put this on for someone who doesn't know about Droog and they'll think this is new Nas.

i gotta agree with this when i first heard droog i had already read the article of people thinking it was nas so i thought maybe thats why i thought he sounded so much like nas .then i played his ep for people that didnt know anything about droogs and they all thought it was some new nas album

Mad late on this dude Droog but I'm loving the EP. I'd like to bring this thread back and make it the official if we can.

The comparisons to Nas don't bother me at all. People were saying the same **** with Bronson and Ghostface when he came out. Then you realize the talent is there and you get over it. Not saying this guy doesn't need to kinda find himself but good lyricism is always welcomed.

Not gonna lie, I still play his album.

Dude is super cocky in interviews.

Acting like he don't sound like Nas. >D :\

I do too. And that's the only thing that really bothers me....just say you were inspired by dude, it's obvious you tried your own take on his approach to rapping
