Jordan Brand will be remastering (building better quality shoes) starting in 2015

if jb truly makes new retros with good quality material, what will inferior quality retros sell for? there might be a big dip in the resell market.
depends on which sneaker. some will go down while others will maintain and even increase in price.

Not true.

Adidas superstars = $80 today
Blk/cement 3s = $180 today

Adidas superstars price stayed relatively the same, while blk/cement 3s skyrocket.

Jordan's don't set the standard for pricing, you have to look at the bigger picture. Prices go up because of supply and demand.

The price of the ones are relatively the same according to this chart found here

Also if u use the 3 as it was sold in 88 for 100$ retail now wood b like 200$ so I think it close to same my opinion tho

Hmm, you gotta point there, but.......

Nike Air Flight 89 retail about $90 back in 89, and you see how much they're going for now, msrp $95.

^^^ actually 89s are retailing @ $110 this time around.

JB sees how much ppl are willing to spend in the after market so why not inflate their own prices & "increase quality" sheep will still line up and they will still sell out.

Still not a major leap compared to Jordan price hikes. + The quality has been consistent and they got the Nike Air on the back, woo wee.

Let the suckers do the sucking

I'm done black ones. N I'm good

Jordans going out the door

IM CASHIN OUT lol

Keeping very few maybe I'll b back one day but doubt it
bye felicia.

But in all seriousness...I don't see JB retailing at 300. They'll go up some, but not 300. No way.

Lol to be honest justifying prices strictly on inflation is wrong. The Jordan III was still selling for 99.99 in 2003 (15 years after it's original release) and if you compare that in today's currency it would be about 127 bucks. Bottom line is supply and demand. Today every Jordan retro is a hyped up release for whatever reason and treated like the next big thing where as years ago you could catch an og colorway on sale.

this thread is a joke. all retro releases sell out in less than 10 minutes online, and people will wait outside for a day in advance. the price was obviously bound to jump. when you can restock shoes, like the playoff 11s, 3 times in two years, and continue to have them sell out, there is obviously a high enough demand for a company to make more money off of a product. there is not another shoe, or clothing item at that, with a higher demand.  You have zero business sense if you dont understand why a company would do this.

I'm pretty sure back in the day when they first released with that $100 price tag, people wouldn't think they would ever retail for $200. Yet here we are. Only time will tell.

Honestly the supposed better quality means nothing to me. I'm just hype on the Columbia n Oreo 4s and super hype about the French 7s.

Not only that but the shoes were cheaper also and the proces went up as the quality went down. And when JB says they will finally give us better quality it demands another price increase to keep all the people complaining about quality to keep buying retros at an even higher price

Ok, I wasn't contesting quality. My whole point was nothing is stopping people from purchasing the shoes at today's higher retail cost to the consumer. Prices have been rising over the years, quality has declined, yet people are still buying them. It's evident that people will pay higher to further outrageous resell prices in order to get what they want. Who's to say it won't continue if they reach an msrp of $300?

I have pairs of these and there flawless and a beautiful shoe..

What are you complaining about?
Lace loops? Whaaat? You kiding me?

kid. Check detailed photos of the 2013 retro and the 1997 og. The lace loop was dull silver made of metal.
the retro has chrome painted plastic with bad molding.
the color of the jumpman on the outsole and the 23 on the back are altered.
it would have been easier if u have seen the ogs in real life

LOL at the people trying to justify this price hike by Nike. You can all do the calculations of inflation, make pie charts or hell, even do a presentation. Nike doesn't care about us end users as long as there's money to be made. As long as we're still buying and retros continue to sell out instantly, Nike will continue to jack up the price.

After this holiday release, only retro worthwhile to look forward to are the Black Red 12s maybe within the next 5 years. Done with JB. Bring on the flyknits !

Honestly with people paying resell prices anyway
I don't see why people are complaining
I barely buy retros for myself nowadays
Just for my kids
In all honesty they turned me off a LONG time ago
Just lets me save more money to forth towards a home

According to Nightwing's new video the remastered shoes are actually looking good. I really hope they are.

for some reason I don't trust any of these guys opinions

probably because so often people don't know what the f*** they're talking about

Honestly, Youtubers are a big part of the problem. Add to the mix that we have a bunch of impulse, can't think for themselves, pansy "sneaker heads" now a days...the only result is a higher MSRP.

Remember Jordan XVII hit us with a 200 MSRP....we let them sit till they were on clearance for $99 and part of the EA. I, myself, bought 30 total packs in different CW at $50.

DELAYED GRATIFICATION. It's what I teach my kids, friends and in my relationship. People just dont have patience anymore.

You can't make believe that you like EVERY single release, every single week, every single month. It's impossible.
