Jordan Brand will be remastering (building better quality shoes) starting in 2015

This; I honestly thought people blew that event out of proportion. They weren't a recent release, and more than likely he's worn them more than a few times over the years, in games of varying length and intensity, as he's in the freaking NBA after all and would therefore be practicing to get to and sustain that level of play; so what's the problem with a pair of shoes that's nearly a decade old finally breaking down, tearing, or wripping in some way? Just how long do people expect some shoes to last? I'd say 10 years for a pair of X's is just fine honestly. Would it be nice if they lasted forever? Of course, but i'm being realistic here. Have a shoe for ten years and you've gotten your money's worth out of it.

Had those been the recent Bobcat or Infrared X's it'd be a different story.
Is this a ten year old shoe?

When it happened to Mat Bonner and New Balance, apparently, sneakerheads didn't let up!

But since this is a JB shoe, now it's a ten year old shoe.

Don't even know what either of those shoes are, so idk or really care as that wasn't the point of my post. I'm simply saying that pointing out Wroten's incident does nothing to support an argument saying JB/Nike is lacking in terms of quality, as it is a 9-10 year old shoe, which my post pointed out. As I also pointed out at the end, if it had been a recently released shoe that would have been different. So if those two others you posted are recent, then that's something that actually supports the argument.

All companies, if they make faulty product, do recalls if their product does not perform safely. They owe you in regard to safety, they owe you in regard to value, they owe you in order to maintain consumer confidence. This why it is said that you speak within an echo chamber, because you fans of these shoes do not speak to the authority, in order to make effective change, one where the company would be forced to change their habit of putting out faulty product.

I am here on Nike talk, just like many others who only participate in General, and then the Sports and Training forums, for discussion, and the discussion includes info for sneakers that are soon releasing.

You didn't think that people only came here to talk about what it is that YOU like, did you?

Matt Powell discusses the pathology of sneaker buyers, sneakerheads,  what sells, and then what might sell.

What Powell is discussing here, are people like yourself, people who simply do the sheep thing, that follow others into non relevancy.
If you want a true remastered product, you have to voice it in such a manner that Nike will pay attention. However, from the way that YOU speak, Nike/Jordan are going to keep giving it to you, with no grease, in which apparently, is how you like it, due to your responses against what it is that I am stating.

Imagine if more people actually went against a price increase, especially in the manner that Nike/JB is presenting.

I'd like not only a better upper, I'd like more durable cushioning, and the pieces used should be put together just as efficiently as Adidas, Reebok, Asics, New Balance does with their product, at a less insulting price point.

What is so wrong with that?
Not reading any of that crap. Send that to Nike Corp. Glad u feel entitled enough to call another man of whom you don't know a "sheep." Get over yourself. You ain't smarter or better than anybody.

Uhhhh, no.

The two shoes posted are less than ten years old, and the newer Nike shoe proves that they really do not pay close attention to quality as they should, and when it happened to Bonner's New Balance shoe, no excuses were allowed from fans of Nike product.

Nike and JB can do no wrong, to fans such as yourself, thus you will continually put up with what they are giving you, and you will make excuses for them as well.
Not reading any of that crap.
I guess it's pretty painful to realize that you are wrong, 'eh?

You threw a stoneface up because you cannot read? The two shoes posted supports my argument, not his.

He stated THE argument in his comment.

Uh, not better, but certainly more aware than those who do not understand the value of their dollar.

There is no shame there.

What exactly do you consider a faulty product?  Someone being upset that the shoe might have a jumpman instead of Nike Air on it, does not qualify as faulty.   However if you do feel the quality is lacking, or safety issue (where did safety come into this) - Im sure you will find their return policy to be more than fair. http://help-en-us.nike.com/app/landing/returns/snav/s/navt/Returns

Also stop using the word 'owe' if you dont know what it means.  Nike as a brand might decide they want to put out a low cost, high quality, OG remastered super shoe.  Part of their business plan might be to maintain loyalty, customer confidence, and deliver high value.   But in no way shape or form is that owed to you.  As I said earlier, a shoe is released, you decide if you want to give Nike your money or not, and if you do want to give them your money, the only thing they owe you is that pair of shoes.

Me personally, I aint even mad at JB's price increase.  The beautiful thing about living in the US or Canada, is we have freedom to decide where our money goes.  You dont like the shoe, then hey you listed another 4 companies where you may choose to spend your money.  To answer your last question, what is so wrong with that, my answer is nothing is wrong with that.  You as a consumer, can want a better upper, better cushioning etc., and its fair to voice what you want, but back to my point, they dont owe it to you.

nothing is made to last forever, that includes shoes. let alone hold up in a competitive situation 10 years later

this thread never disappoints no matter how frequently I pop in

I don't even debate with people in here because some dudes can't hold a normal convo without someone name calling or lowkey jabs because you may have a different opinion  dudes take this sneaker thing to heart like some dudes really have a real hate for Nike/JB it feels like

A dollar isn't the same to everybody. U have no right to go around telling folks how to spend theirs when u have no idea how much money they have or make. U can't financially advise anybody if you don't know their finances. And how do u figure u know more about than the next man when it comes to the value of a dollar? U got a real hollier than thou issue.

Deflecting and redirecting a discussion suggesting a comprehension issue, really is irrelevant. I think is is pretty clear that my point was heard, due to the fact that you've responded.

Any reputable business stands upon the product that they produce, as all businesses must develop consumer confidence, which suggests that the company at least OWES them that much, so that the customer will continue to support whatever business they are involved in.

Gaining and maintaining trust, is a key element in a business relationship, and in retail, maintaining that trust in whatever they produce, is OWED to whomever supports the business.

If they want to maintain their position popularity, they OWE you to stand behind what they promote or produce.
owe

[ ō ]
verb
verb:  owe  · third person present:  owes  · past tense:  owed  · past participle:  owed  · pr…

  1. have an obligation to pay or repay (something, especially money) in return for something received:

"they have denied they owe money to the company"

synonyms:  be in debt to  · be indebted to  · be in arrears to  ·
    More

  2. owe something, especially money, to (someone):

"I owe you for the taxi"
You didn't realize that this was about safety? We are talking about footwear, that may fall apart, which is an issue of durability, which should be an issue that's addressed in this remastered series.

LOL. Good post.

People always complain about the CDP 11s. Were they really that bad?

I don't know where your quality standards are with Jordan Brand, but even if you are literally fine with whatever, I'm pretty sure you'd still think those were crap

yeah, i'm not one to nit pick too much. I just keep hearing that they were terrible in comparison to the 2012s

I wasn't even a fan of the 2012 pair and I can say that those definitely were definitely an improvement over the CDP pair.

The CDPs and Anniversaries are in a class all of their own.

You'll have to forgive him, he's a little slow.
Funny how the same people in here telling folks they are slow and wasting their time are doing the exact same thing they shun folks about by replying or commenting to "Slow" peoples' posts... If I'm slow and don't know anything why take time out to respond to such invalid incompetency? What does that make you? I'm slow but none of you geniuses can answer the one question that puts your reasoning to bed... Am I slow because I view from a different perspective than you? Am I slow because I believe inflation on retro Jordans should have caused prices to gradually increase over the years instead of starting to rear its ugly head in 08-09 along with the SneakerHead Boom? Am I slow because I know inflation exists but has very little to do with Jordan price increases? Funny that inflation can cause different shoes with different original price ranges to all be lumped into the same higher price bracket even after being the same original price 10-15 years after first releasing... Its not even about inflation anymore to me but more so the lack of respect for differing opinions... You in particular have plenty smart remarks on the internet... hope it makes you feel better about yourself you obviously don't have much real life experience... I'd show you how slow I am if the opportunity ever presented itself... oh and I almost forgot... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
