Jordan Brand will be remastering (building better quality shoes) starting in 2015

That cardboard used on the box sure does look like JB has put more attention to detail and quality
I'm not sure but I'm assuming this is sarcasm. Those boxes look cheaper than the black/white boxes we have been getting recently imo. It really seems like they used an even cheaper finish and just used the gold hints to help stir the false sense of high quality ("remastering") in everyone's mind

Now people tripping on boxes! We're giving JB so much room for improvement. By the time they give ya'll nike air tabs, og cuts. og boxes, og hang tags, and blah blah, yall will be in rocking chairs talking bout take them off my feet hurt.

give them to me in plastic bags for all i care just give me decent quality and not for an insane price because JB is not a designer shoe and should always be sub $200 (unless inflation catches up at some point)

Right? They're just trying to make as much money possible. At some point the prices will be to high and I'm sure sales will go down. Not sure if any time soon but if thy keep going up I'm sure they will

Agree.  I couldn't really care less about the box.  As long as it doesn't fall apart during shipping..  If they can save $0.10 from the box, and put that $0.10 into the production of the shoe, then I'm good.

Exactly this.  They dictate the price and the market responds.

I'm afraid not. half the attraction for these stupid new kids is the price. They somehow think it's cool and brag about paying like 250 for jordans... crazy but that's how it is these days. maybe if they wise up and move on and this kind of thing doesn't catch on with a future generation, then it will die out. but with the current crowd everything will still sell up into at least the 250-300 retail range imo. it already is basically selling at that price if you look at the corny limited releases/"premium" crap. If they have the nerve to push it past 300 regularly then I think there will be a slight decline. But then again, who knows when people pay 600+ for jordan 1s.

I get your point, but will JB move the same volume at $250+?  I know I would definitely be out at that point..

You have to look at it like this. Sneakerheads who have been around and seen the prices go up over the years to it hitting the $200 range are going to start opting out or attempting to "boycott" JB until they lower the prices. The fact of the matter is even if they did that all these kids and hypebeasts wanting every pair of J's that release are still going to buy them, so JB will continue to higher the prices. Unfortunate but true IMO.

That's where I disagree. The older heads are the ones keeping the wheels turning, they work full time jobs to buy the releases they're pumping out every week. If sneakers were to hit $300+ or whatever would be too much for most, the sales will decline. I'm sure even at this point people are becoming more selective, I know I am. Even teens or young adults aren't going to be making enough to buy $300 shoes every week working for minimum wage. Nor will anyone be giving them money for them if they already priced them beyond their idea of a fair price. The bubble will bust at one point for retro sneakers. The examples people use to compare prices are new model sneakers with new tech. Realistically, it would be foolish if anyone was still buying them at the same cost as rent or a car payment for a $25-30 piece of rubber and pleather.

Since it's the year of the 7s

I'm thinking they may

Do a Carmine 7 colorway

As well as a Oreo 7 colorway

two popular colorways

sadly, yes. there are plenty of people who will buy at that price and already do. look at the resale market. If anything, they will mark them up as close to 300 as possible, and then when they don't sell they will suck everyone in with "sale" prices of about 225-230... watch. and everyone will eat them up like it's a deal. They're already sort of doing that with the newer sigs and ppl are biting.

I also want to add that older heads already have most of these releases. The shoes were cheaper back then with most of them with better quality. I don't need a third pair of most of these shoes at these $200 prices and without NA/correct materials or shape.

That's what I am saying.  Eventually the bubble will burst and we cannot use the folks who buy from resellers as the majority basis.  Im not saying I know the magic number, it can be $210 or it can be $350.

For me, once the price gets that high, Ill just stick to the designer brands and tell JB to blow it out their ***

No they won't move the same volume. The more expensive -- the less people will buy.

You will not know the true numbers unless you knew what Nike was producing now....versus how much they produce as they gradually raise their prices.

When they raise the prices, they would likely lower the production to equal their predicted demand. From our eyes, the shoe will still sell out---although they produced in less quantity.

This will keep people thinking like you do------that everyone is still buying and thus the new 'value' will be seen to be accurate from your prospective. Those who buy simply based on 'perceived' value will still buy.....others, who simply think the price is too high...will not.

If they raise the prices........the demand will lower. period.

Na. Nike said the 3's are being put away for a bit so those aren't coming.  As for the others, I sure the hell hope so!

One of NT's insiders also mentioned Mochas being on the table for fall after that announcement of them going in the vault, so we'll see.
