I mean, granted there were epic lulz in the 04-09 era, 2010-2012 had some good threads too.
People still weren't reaching as much as they do nowadays though. Some cats just seem like they're trying SO HARD that they ultimately end up trolling.
Case and point - Brolic vs Superb. Ultimate troll status last night.

All that trolling stuff came along IMO around 2011 or 12. Hell I been on NT since middle school and was never on that troll stuff, my threads showed my age sure but dudes now legit make accounts just to rustle jimmies

I think that time period is when trolling became mainstream on the internet.
It became "cool" to troll, so it started to find its way here.

There have been far more thread worthy posts in fools wildin than TAN. That's all.
Ninja's argument against TAN was that it contributed to a decrease in threads created in General which led to a decrease in interest and activity.
But fools wildin has contributed more. It's a one stop shop for foolishness and lulz. Instead of making a new thread most people just post in there.
How many times in this year alone has a post in fools wildin been turned into a thread? He would've been better off pointing the finger at fools wildin.

That's NT in general nowadays. It's subconsciously turned into reddit. Everything has been consolidated into these enormous threads. I don't even go to S&T anymore because it's so cluttered with a whole bunch of discussions happening at the same time, in the same thread. NT just needs to expand, that's all. Instead of having a 1000+ page movie thread, how about a TV/Movie forum? That way all the discussions that happen in that thread can really get the exposure they deserve. Along with that, all the individual discussions about particular tv shows and movies have a proper home.
As I look at page one of the General forum right now, it's really obvious how much NT has subconsciously turned into reddit. We have subreddits for cars, stocks, jewelry, online dating, Ralph Lauren, movies, anime/manga, exercising (S&T?), photography, skateboarding, wrestling (shoutouts to my NTWT fam
), Playstation, guns, all the various women appreciation threads, and of course the thread about nothing.That's what's currently on page one of the general forum. I can go away for two weeks, and can guarantee that those threads will still be on the first page. It makes NT look really stagnant, when I really thinks that's not the case. Everything has just become too consolidated and cluttered.
We have a new a new platform, so we need to stop still posting like we are on Yuku. We need a movie/tv forum, a clothes forum, and a technology/video games/cell phones forum. Most controversially, I think there would need to be a serious discussion on whether there should be a girls/yambs advice forum.
If that expansion was to happen, it would really free up the general forum. Then the fools wildin' and tan could be dissolved, and take the general forum back to its "roots"....miscellaneous discussion.

yea i think to many subforums would just get waaaaaaaaay outta hand...especially with the way social media is and how ppl become "experts" and newfound knowledgeable about subjects and would want to make forums off the latest buzz...twitter etc... thing to speak out on...
It would start off as the main topic/thread then that would lead to ppl making similiar threads etc... on said subject, then ppl would complain about 3/4 threads roughly based about the same thing based on a flash in the pan topic and make a subforum about it, that would eventually fade as soon as the latest "trend" buzz topic thing to talk about comes around.
