modern men haircuts..

Can someone give a full detailed explanation in how to comb this pomp. I've tried but no luck. It just comes out looking spikey lol

I'll post my pic to show what my hair is currently looking like, haven't had a cut in about a month so this is what it typically looks like.

I work retail and occasionally have customers complementing me on my hair (slight humble brag I guess).

I pretty much do the same thing that Zapatohead does as far as styling it.

Excuse the strugglebeard.

Yeah, I mentioned that before. The popular haircuts now are definitely older styles. Biker/greaser and Boardwalk Empire type of cuts.

this is close to what i have

I hate how this haircut is the go to haircut now.

I went to the barbershop and asked for this

And I got stuck with this
Touchy subject but your hair looks too thin to try to pull that off anyway.

Certain hairstyles don't work for me because of how thick my hair is unless they use a certain type of scissor to take out a bulk of it.  My hair will get kinda big without product in it too.

I have REALLY thick and wavy hair. When I wake up it's in curls.

If you have thin hair it's even easier to shape and maintain. If I had thin hair I would've prolly gone for a more rockabilly look.

Bro! If I had curly hair I wouldn't even be in this thread. I'd grow it out like sideshow bob and watch the ladies faint [emoji]128521[/emoji]

 it's not THAT curly. It's just the annoying curly.

I'll tell you my personal approach to it. I have to jump in the shower to get it to work.

1. Jump out, quickly dry my hair but only a little. I still want it to be moist when I put the pomade in.

2.So you put a good amount of pomade in your palm and rub it in with your other hand to warm it up. Put it in your hair in a messy style.

3. This is when you use a comb of your choice. Comb it towards the back as if you wanted to slick it back, do the same for the sides. I use this comb first.

4. I brush the bangs to the front, after slicking it back.

5. I use the round comb and curl it inward. While I hold it there, I blow dry it on hot. This gets it to stay. I use a comb similar to this one.

6. Then I use the 2nd comb I posted and while I blow dry it, I pull it up, and then curl it in at the tip. Kind of like a backwards wave at the top of your hair.

It takes a while to learn how to get it to look consistently good. Hell, I'm still working on it.

Excuse the strugglebeard.

Thing is definitely dope. My hair is too crazy to let it get too wild as it'll look like a bush and not cool like yours.

I know what you're saying, but you can still do it with that hairline. You just need to find a really good barber.

They funny thing is I actually like my hair after it grows for a bit because I'm able to style it better, that's why I go long before I cut it.

I wanna try the undercut but I don't know how it'll look on me. Maybe next time I go to the barbershop i'll muster up the courage to get it.

Nothing to do with hairline.  Receding does not necessarily mean thin and vice versa plus I was trying to avoid saying anything about that anyway

but his isn't that bad.  His actual hair looks thin and it's not the best picture but I'm gonna guess it'd be tough to even closely duplicate how full the example he posted is.

Lol yea my hair is really thin [emoji]128532[/emoji] I also have a receding hairline. I give this sexy look 5 more years [emoji]128557[/emoji]. My barber gets really close to the style I want but I can't seem to style it when I'm home alone :-/

Kinda woulda been interesting to know what went thru that barber's head when shown that pic and then given that hair to work with

If I ever start going bald, I dunno if I could rock that. I'm not as cool as Statham or Antonio Cesaro.
