Northern Lights is indica and Ak-47 is a hybrid (Colombia, Mexican and Afghani strains mixed).

Basically there are four types you can choose from; indica, sativa, ruderalis (a lesser known/used strain) and hybrids. Indica gives you the stoned/sedated feeling, sativa gives the uplifting energetic feeling, not too sure about effects of ruderalis only how they relate to the other two in terms of lineage and growth, and the hybrids mix the two depending on the breeders preference.

There is A LOT more to this when you start talking about growth patterns and all of that. leafly.com is a good place to get a general idea of what they do, attitude seedbank is good for pics and stuff.
 
I mixed those cookies from norcal with the sour that I get here in AZ. Most confusing high ever :lol:

The venting Kiss did about the pungent smell of sour :lol: Son was genuinely frustrated
