h2 lockout was great, water u talkinbout? Other team could nade the snipe spawn and grab it just as easy. Also if you sat and waited the first person to go for the snipe was dead because of the fusion cores places there

I can give you an outline.

-Team that spawns Elbow gets prime access to Sniper, the overshield, the hammer, and Camo because they can just go green and lift with the Brute shot

-Team that spawns bottom blue only gets access to shotgun

-Games more often than not end up becoming standstills because its impossible to push, you push top mid you die. You can only really push from top Gold over to snipe side when the camo spawns which is every three minutes

-The map plays so damn slow that getting to 50 kills is a rarity.

It was still way easier for the team that spawned BR side to get it. Spawning Snipe Tower should give you prime access to snipe. Also Library was so much better than blue lift. Blue lift had next to no cover aside from the corners which you could still nade out. If you were one shot in library you could hide until you got your shield back.

i played halo 2, 3 and reach competitively and can give some insight at least from a mlg pov. Guardian and lockout are both crap, the maps are made for long range br fights with way to much cover. the result being a lot of shooting and bad pushes ... just overall not a good map for competitive viewing or playing

Midship is by far the best ffa map. The way the map plays in halo 2 has a dominant side in pink which the angle of the tower in halo2 just lets you abuse people. in Halo 3 when they remade the map they made it play as good of a map ever. The spawns are well controlled. Pink loss its complete dominance and car side is used more.

Basically. Both Lockout and Guardian play the same way which is why Ball was the only good gametype for both.

As much as I dont like midship for team, its by far the best ffa map.
 




Those walls on Elbow wont change much but whatever.

Also the Tournament at PAX with the pro Halo teams is this weekend on Twitch

Panel today with the stream starting at 10:30 PST at or . Rumors say we will see Halo 2 Anniversary Forge, customization across all games, and possibly Halo 3 in 1080p and 60 FPS(or whatever the stream allows).

You cant push at all. So bad. Its 11-2. Lockout slayer. This game might not hit 30 kills

Blue team killed everyone on Red team and then they spawn snipe and just sit there.

Meh, at HIGH LEVEL, 95% of the game technically sucks. If you play by those standards every game sucks.

Exactly. Once everything is broken down Frame by frame it isn't even fun anymore. If pros had their way every map would just be an open square so everything can be pixel perfect

-Radar is fine

-So are BR with the AR as the secondary starts

-I also have no issues with default

There are just certain gametype/map combos  that wont ever work at high level

Look at this lockout TS game thats going on right now. Nothing is happening. Maps just bad for TS

I wouldnt say it kills the game either, it promotes it. The changes they make to cater to high level play have zero effect on casual play, but the same cant be said about the inverse. Every change drastically affects high level play and do nothing to casual play.
Casual play is way more fun that pro-level competitive play.
Gonna disagree here. I dont even hate casual play, competitive is just more fun.

I see what you're saying but there's a balance that needs to be brought. Most high level players argue that once you're spawn trapped the game is over. Well...... Don't get spawn trapped. Some stages makes it more effective but ultimately it's their fault for dying.


Like I said, if hardcore mlg players had their way the maps would just be perfectly even square arenas with no cover and everyone starts with BR.
 
3 Skybox maps might actually turn H2A into something. Opens the door for forge remakes and there were a ton of forged maps in the past that werent bad.

Reach was the ultimate "balancing" of the game. Every weapon sucked and grenades were damn near useless. Linear, "fair" gameplay is exactly what mlg players want. Everything was bad with that game.
 
I played reach telling myself "I have to like this game". A month later I gave up forcing myself to like it. Game is complete trash

Damn near all the loadouts were AR starts though, and they weren't anything close to fair. You never knew what AA the other guy had unless it was the jet pack cause it was the only obvious one

Reach was fun when you stat whored like crazy other than that it was eh.
 
The AR was being pushed as the new BR but was single fire + bloom to make it less noob Friendly. Whole game was cheeks.
 
Haven't watched any of the vids. Are they playing the classic h2 or the h2 with additions to maps and such?
