Where Will America’s Sick Obsession With Wealth And Money End?

When visit foreign countries you realize struggling ain't struggling.

This... Listen, 98% of the country hadn't better off than half the world... Probably more than half actually... We're all on the top pillar of the totem poll... We're just trying to get to the tippity top...

I just don't understand how you can feel good as a human being with 100 million plus dollars and there are kids homeless and going to sleep starving every night and you do absolutely nothing to help... Greed and the value of money in this country is sickening... I recently ran into an exchange student from Sweden at a bar in Arlington, VA and asked her what the biggest difference is over here compared to her country... She replied with "You guys have so many people sleeping on the street... we never see things like that where I'm from"  Definitely gave me some perspective after hearing that
My European chick once told me that back home if some wanted to be homeless or stay with out a job its by their choice. Their government prevent things like that from happening in her country.

But why do people think those with 100m in their account NEED to help those who are starving? They arent obligated.

They are in a POSITION where they can help, but do they have to? No. Does it make them a bad guy if they dont? No.

You all FAIL miserably to realize money has no real value. It is controlled by the perception of it. You perceive money as a limited source where in essence its made by man and controlled by man their for how can it be more powerful than man? Your giving false pretenses to a form of matter or material in simpeler terms. Do you think the government created something that has more power than their capable of handling down to a T? In your reality probably so. That's why you think the economy will crash at some point "magically" or inevitably. Its what keeps you at bay and on the edge of your seats....

I'm done. You guys got a lot of learning to do. I can sit and break it down all I want but... Why? Lol
ur s0 sm@rt

It's 100% fact that money will improve your quality of life, in regard to living conditions and health.

Yup my mother is from Finland.... Free college education for high school grads.. Unemployment pay is a much higher percentage and lasts much longer.. If you're on pregnant leave for example you get paid time off for up to 2 years.... Just a lot of things like that where the government seems to give more damns about the people

it will never end.

it will never collapse.

USA forever.
OMG SHOCK VALUE
compared to the roman empire-- had you put any thought into your post aside from plugging words into google image search:

The USA has long dominated the economic sphere.

The USA is a much stabler politically.

The USA is not trying to conquer the world.

The USA continues to innovate and develop intellectual property.

So the USA parallels Rome in some ways as many empires throughout history have. Big deal.

The American Dream is based on that house in the burbs with the picket fence. Until we get a new ethos for our country to run with , it'll never end. I like money. I love it. I've never been sad when I purchased something I really wanted. And that's because I need it to live somewhat of a happy life. It just is what it is.

It's in human nature to have options..

money=options

more money= more options

the obsession will never stop really

lol@complaining about rich people hoarding wealth...then complain about rich people spending frivolously in the same breathe...

pick your battle and stick to it.... the guy with 10mill who eats out daily, cops the newest whip, and shops like no tomorrow is actually providing jobs and income for the businesses he patronizes.
Truth, the problem is that many people who complain about this aren't business owners so they don't understand how economics really work. They are quick to point fingers at wealthy owners but don't understand that they built companies that put food on the table for its employees. In some cases, these businesses even bring dollars into the country. I urge those who complain about wealth hoarding to instead use their energy to create/start something that the wealthy would spend their money on.

The Same USA that is trillions in debt & watches as the dollar value decreases dominates the economic sphere?
The Same USA that has two major parties who risk the well being of the country to undermine the other?
The Same USA who waits at any sniff of problems to force it's ideas into the political spectrum?
The same USA that is currently last in education systems, Health, & barely manufactures anything in our own country?

yes, problem?

good job at reading comprehension.

that's still not the Roman Empire you are describing or how USA relates to it.

nothing you wrote has discredited anything, fantastic contribution.

when the world oil level is so low that necessity's such as water and grains are unable to be transported.

never, if you had 500 mil (just using the number as a reference from one of the first posts) youre telling me you wouldnt want a nice car, a couple of houses to visit during the summertime/winter time, maybe a boat or 2, a plane to fly you were you want to not have to deal with airlines...etc.

I'd like to say i wouldnt be one to "show off" persay, but i'd be lieing if i told you i wouldnt own the things I just listed

At the end of the day people can do what they want with their money. Me personally 1 car is enough not 40, and only time I would buy multiple places if the others were investment properties or if I need "home bases" because I do business in multiple cities. Even then I wouldn't cop 10 million dollar mansions In 5 cities , but that's me

What is that you ask? Homeless spikes.

A plank of wood would solve that problem for a homeless person.

As long as money exists, there will never be peace. Some greedy people will hve the skills to acquire it all and live healthy prosperous lives while some people will lack the skill or discipline to gain any nd ultimately die. The end.

What if there was no money.

And the restaurant owners, auto CEOs and designers get the biggest piece of that pie. It's a circle jerk at the top. I think the idea is wealth distribution. Just because it's flowing, doesn't mean all men are created equal (or even close to it) in the grand scheme of things.

To answer OP's question: it won't ever stop. We're heading for full financial collapse and really there's no way to fix it. Look at how much debt we're in. SMFH.

lol at being rich buying a Camry. FOH.

Why work hard to be rich and live normal?

500mil I'm enjoying life.

Why limit my spendings to a Prius?

Same dudes who drop 500 on kicks saying they'll cop a 500k home.

Yeaaaaaa

Sureeee

Your gonna help people? Go right ahead.

Same dudes who won't even give a bum $5 at red lights wit 5k in their account. But turn millionaires and act like they'll give a million like that to students.
