All while the mercurials are still sitting at $499 buy it now. Jordans are the training wheels of sneakers. Only hot ones are the 1's and they arent worth $500 thats for sure. But back to the topic of the thread

Thats your opinion. Completely understand. Comparing the two are ridiculous. People copping Jordans are not doing it for comfort. Its the nostalgia, brings back memories for some of us.
Nobody will ever say Jordans are built to come close to what Mercurials are. No way.
But to say Chicago's will drop to $250 and possibly more is insane talk. OG1's only go up in price. They NEVER go down.

Just strange cause i found 2013's at the thrift store VNDS for $30 and no one was into them for so long now they are the best thing out. Agree that comparing is dumb. Honestly was just trying to save that man from trading his mercurials

How can anyone be "clueless" to the jordan brand? Its the most over hyped, over saturdated, recycled, and over promoted sneaker line on the planet. My argument was that Mercs are not worth trading for Chicago 1. Both could get serious rotation, but the fact is there are hundreds of the chicagos still waiting to be sold. Its all personal opinion in the end.

Agree to disagree. Back to the convo. Would love to see more solid colorways of the magista. A navy would be nice, an all white, or olive. Would lose it to have the MC racer weave on the magista

Your first line is completely correct. But wait man, you do realize the Chicago's were just released two weeks ago and are hard to find at $400, right? The ones you showed were from two years ago with Jordan Brand on the heal. The new ones are truest to the OG form, remastered with way better quality, so thats why they are going for so much. I find it hard to believe you went into ebay to pull up Chicago's and then came here and listed the ONE pair thats at BIN for $300, only to show me the fu fu 2013's. You didnt find it odd everythign else was $450+??? I'm pretty sure the guy was talking about 2015's in that trade.

To the guys question, i would not trade a Chicago for mercurials. I would think about it though since I have more than 1. The chicago's will surpass mercurials price in the long run (standard with 1's these days) but if you really love the mercurials, it would make sense. Especially with whatever size you're looking for. There's not alot out there to be had.

i would love a Navy magista. I need to see some more pics of the black magista on feet. I initially hated that brown sole. It looked misplaced on such clean shoe (like a pretty girl with yellow teeth), but I've grown to love them.

300 is the max i'd pay for those as it is the most reasonable.
beyond that imo is absurd, like paying 450+ for mercurials.

I absolutely know about the remastered series. I know about the nike air on the tongue and the non jumpman logo on the back because the jumpman logo wasnt introduced until the 3 or 4 i believe (not 100% sure) I do know that these are slightly taller OG form which is different than the 2013 which almost look like the jordan 1 mid. I understand why they are going for so much being that besides the banned colorway, these were the original cw of the OG Jordan 1, the beginning of a new era of athlete endorsed footwear. The leather quality is higher and the overall build has been improved in the "remastered" jordans that have been introduced this year. I saw 2013 as soon as i clicked submit (it was an error on my part). Not completely oblivious. I did see the other $450+ prices but sometimes ebay sellers are smart and undercut the rest of the sellers every once in a while.Your first line is completely correct. I actually had about 6 pairs of JB shoes including bred 4s, 88' and fire red 3's, fire red 5, and my chicago 1. I sold all of them except the 1 because as i started to collect more (now that i graduated college and have a disposable income) i turned more toward low silhouettes like flyknits, etc. and was somewhat tired of the chunkiness of jordans.
I agree that the price of the 1 may exceed the price of the mercurial in the long run but that doesnt make them fresher or worth spending the money. If the kid is purely interested in resale then yes, trade for the chicagos.

you have both? If so, which is more comfortable? I like the look of the Mercurials much more, but the magistas are growing on me and are more reasonably priced.

I think you could find them closer to $250. I would check Grailed.com i think there are a few pairs around that price. I have also seen a few even at retail recently. I think sellers are getting nervous that they cant move them.

TBH my buddy has the mercurial and i have the magista. I think the overall construction of the magista is a higher quality, with the leather on the back heel, the comfort level is incredible and the nike free soles kind of wear out quick. This is my first footscape model that i have owned so i cant speak to the footscape sole and how long they last but i have owned frees before and the sole was gone in like 6 months.
