50 inch 1080p tv for 380

You read BB.com and various online articles, believe in everything and now your a fitness expert.

You read a few articles about TV's online about 240hz being a gimmick and now youre a TV expert.

My dude Lucky loves to pick and chose what he wants to retain as facts.

When have I claimed to be an expert? As for fitness I am an expert on works for ME.

got a 3d led Samsung smart tv. never looked back. 3d is cool but those glasses makes your eyes hurt sometimes

This is about affordability people, stop looking for over 60 hz. That would be decent for the bedroom, but pass for now. I think I'll eventually move my 55 to the bedroom and cop something bigger for the living room.

And changhong is a top electronics manufacturer in China trying to creep into the US market. Before you scoff, remember Samsung and Goldstar were funny names too.

^some people though don't like the soap opera effect or a smart tv. Some just like a simple TV.
This....I have a samsung and have the blur reduction and jutter reduction set  VERY low. I'd rather the picture be slightly jerky rather than be staring at a falsely smooth image created through inserting fabricated frames in between the real ones. Ish looks crazy weird. Soap opera affect is more distracting to me even though it's a smoother overall picture.

I remember first time I saw the soap opera effect I was at a bar and they were playing next Friday and I thought it was a Tyler Perry play

Yea I don't like the look of it either. It just looks weird and ruins movies for me.

Wouldn't catch me dead with a Changchong anything in my household. @$380 there's no way that's quality.

It's even worse with movies because they only have 24 frames per second while your tv shoes 36 frames per second. So the TV fabricates 12 frames artificially per second. So basically 1/3 of the frames you see aren't even real. TV shows, however, are typically shot at 30 frames per second. So the TV fabricates only 6 frames articially per second, which is half as much as with movies. Sooooo, while the soap opera effect is definitely there for TV shows, it's laughably worse with movies.

This is why I have my motion blur reduction and jutter reduction set VERY low. While the image rendering isn't as fluid, it looks A LOT more natural. I just have it set really low to help take the edge off how rough the motions are. I think sports looks the worst with motion plus IMO. But a lot of people like the technology, so IDK.

I still always buy really nice TV's though, I just don't use the motion blur technology (120 or 240 Hz) very much. But I still enjoy the higher quality picture and other features that higher end TV's have.

Yeah...it's like I can't accurately describe exactly why it looks worse, but seriously what a WEIRD effect it has on the picture rendering. Looks bizarre.

Just got the TV today. It's not bad at all picture is awesome. Probably going to put it in my garage on the wall

Can anyone recommend the best tv in the 500$ range. Good balance for gaming, sports, and movies. Preferably close to 50"?

I've definitely noticed this on smart TV's - never knew what the official name for it was and no one seemed to notice it but me
