Solo Vacation Trip Advice? Vol. 1 Month Away....

Sup NT. Starting a new job in about a month and half. Managed to squeeze a 10 day trip in between my last day at my current job and my start date at my new job. Wanted to do a real vacation during that 10 day period, no work, no boss, no stress.......

Any suggestions? Some of my considerations:

-Since I'm booking on short notice, flights are not looking cheap. I'm thinking domestic on this trip.

-I'm from Cali, want to see something different. I'm single so nightlife is important.

-I've never traveled solo before. I'd imagine it's a good opportunity to explore a place all to yourself.

Appreciate it!

You need to be confidence to travel and do things solo first off. Not saying that you aren't but there are folks who are too scared to eat at a sit down restaurant by themselves.

You can get dirt cheap airfare if you don't care where you are going and can go at the last minute while on standby. Since you're going alone, I would look at this route to be cost effective. Hotel will be a different story since you're booking last minute but shouldn't be too outrageous if you don't stay at 5 stars places.

I've never done this before until I started my job where I travel a bit. I actually enjoy going to new cities and explore what they have to offer by myself.

If you want the nightlife you probably should pick out several bigger cities you want to go and look at your dates and hawk over the airfare the day before or couple of days before.

A friend does this all the time. Dude went to Seattle recently on a whim. Got a round trip ticket from LAX for around $40

Best of luck and have fun.

its' one of those times where you can actually do whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want without asking if someone else wants to do it aswell

U can cop a decent groupon or living social vacation for under 700 OP that with flight and airfare usually. How cheap u trying to go.

$40? How?
I forgot the service he used. The same principle with hotel. If there are 10 empty seats on the plane, it's still gonna take off. They want to pack as many people in as possible. Airlines don't make money on domestic flights. At best, they break even so every dollar helps.

You mean hotel? Flight is airfare.

This sounds so dope!  So basically, you wake up in the morning,  have no idea where you are going, head to the airport and hop on a random plane? Pretty ballsy but sounds fun.

I'm pretty comfortable in my own shell, can totally eat by myself, shop by myself, etc etc. I'm actually looking forward to this solo trip, 29 years old, gonna turn 30 soon, starting a new job in a completely different business sector and corporate culture, I think it will be a good way to cleanse the brain.

Right now I'm thinking:

-NYC/Boston- I do have a friend in NYC to crash with

-Chicago

-Seattle or Portland

-Europe??? Don't know if it would be too costly to book just in a month in a advance.

How do you go about getting the plane tickets at the last minute? You ask for the cheapest air fares to... anywhere?

Let's go to Europe bruh. I'm leaving next month. I would say cabo, Mexico. Miami, Florida. Costa Rica. You have plenty of places to chose from

Hawaii.

Not sure about the night life, but it'll be nice to relax for 10 days before starting a new job.

Congrats!

I went to Punta Cana by myself 8 years ago, amazing experience

if you don't plan on staying at resorts this solo trip should be relatively inexpensive

I take solo trips all the time. From booking my flight months in advance to week of. Talk to me OP.

I want to work for an airline just for the benefits. I've looked for jobs that match my skill set at some airlines but haven't had any luck really.
