I like how the only options you gave us in the poll were to be:

Black and offended

Not black but can understand how it can be offensive

An Uncle Tom

I do find the title to be offensive and the trailer was cringeworthy

If you're gonna be at a television show that may be damaging to black people then Love and Hip Hop is your show, not this.

yeah love and hip hop is a terrible show but the people who vh1 markets it to actually supports it smh

but this show is on ABC prime time.. big difference compared to vh1

I laughed at parts of the trailer, it looks like Anthony is Exec producer so he should be in control of what comes out.

I don't think you can compare this to other shows like J.Foxx, Family Matters etc though, this looks somewhat original and engaging hopefully the topics aren't the main part of the show and just sprinkled in. But I think my boy Furious gonna bring the lulz.

These are good topics bi-racial kids are part of culture now, just think 20-30 years ago jungle fever was still taboo now there is a lot of new families with kids who probably didn't grow up the same as one or both of the parents.  All they are doing is touching on these new situations.  Hopefully they don't go OD with it.

lmaoo at My name is Thomas and my brother has kids...Tracy Ellis Ross man I lowkey been wanting to **** since I was a youngin, that *** too fat

You don't really see all-black TV shows these days that aren't about some ratchet foolishness, I'll give the show a shot strictly based on that.

It just looks stupid, regardless of the subjectivity of it being offensive or not. I doubt it will last.

In reality our biased opinions mean nothing. There is going to be more dufferent races, cultures, and nationalities tuning in than you could imagine. So just give it a shot.

did anyone watch the show?

i thought it was just ok...

i'll give it a chance if i remember...

i think it should be noted that there is a population of black people this would speak to

Isn't the title supposed to be a double entendre? Black-ish...kind of black.  Black-ish...black stuff

I don't know anything about it other than the commercials

I had the same reservations as OP when I saw the trailer.

Tuned in, and it's really not that bad. Corny, but not that bad. No really negative portrayals.

The show is not bad at all. I've been pleasantly surprised. Tuesday's episode (about spanking) actually had me laugh out loud at certain points. Also, I have a thing for Ms. Ross.

I see it as a black family attempting not to get too out of touch with the black-ness after reaching a certain level of success. I guess that's me taking the show for what it is at face value without letting the title play a huge factor in my opinion. I can't relate too much because I'm not affluent and have full awareness of my black-ness. But it has funny moments.

+1

The one where dude puts on his OG AJ 1's from 1985 had me tripping hard though..LMAO

That one had Niketalk written all over it.

When I first heard the title I was like :wow: ABC breaking out the white sheets word to Walt Disney especially with Anderson being the lead of it but I saw my boy Larry is apart of it and I gave it a chance. From the jump I thought ABC was going for the black Modern Family, a hit show geared towards black ppl. I can at least appreciate they're even trying despite the show title.

The show is just okay and not offensive.

The head-nod ep was on point  I don't get to watch this a whole lot except for on demand so I'm behind. I saw that and I think the Mr. Mom ep.

No way I'm voting with that offensive poll you made though  :smh:
Wat u think bout dis op
I really don't know what the **** these ppl are thinking
