Currently enrolled in the Information Systems transfer program at my local CC. Was hoping to land internships in 16 and 17 before graduating.
Got put on WGU through this thread and am strongly considering enrolling in their security program and hopefully finishing withing a year instead.
How can I finesse the benefits of an internship and WGU at the same time?

Throw those resume on Dice.com also.
Just make sure you are prepared to sift through the huge influx of calls from recruiters. Alot of the recruiters see just keywords on resumes and will contact you about a job that isnt even a fit for you. I got so many calls from jobs for guys with 8+ years experience just because I had "Hibernate" on my resume

Since WGU is an online program your best bet is to attend career fairs looking to hire interns and recent grads. Best way to land an internship is face to face interaction and networking with recruiters. It makes you become more than just a resume that gets skimmed over by a program and selected by buzz words.
I will have to make a Dice account when/if I start looking for a new position. It sounds pretty good.

What kind of positions will i be offered? Not sure if i should pursue IT fully or continue trying to move up through banking

It depends on your resume and what you are looking for. They have postings for jobs spanning all of IT(even management, technical writers, IT sales and marketing, etc), and even some engineering jobs. You fill out a profile that includes your resume, skills, what type of employment you are looking for(full, part time, contract, etc), what areas you are open to, etc. Its mostly for job postings but recruiters go on there to scout for talent also. I have been contacted about some jobs that were way outta my league and skillset though, so it can be hit or miss at times. I really used it most to look at the latest job postings, the recruiters were kinda annoying honestly. The job postings there are A1 though. Thats one of the first places a tech job will be posted. Looking at postings on Dice is also a good way to gauge the market and see what skills employers are looking for. Dice X Glassdoor can be your best tool.

LOL I made a dice (had one back senior yr of college but dont remember email), but made it unsearchable, just going to have it on stash for if I ever need it. I have my linkedin as unsearchable for the same reasons too.

Under Privacy in Settings, Its not fully unsearchable, like I believe people can find you if you are a 2nd connect, but you won't appear on Search engines, and if someone is a 3rd connect it hades your info, also you can set it where if you browse other peoples pages it hides your info (but you can't see if someone looked at your page).

I'm currently in my Jr Year since I transferred, and currently never had an internship, but I would love to be a software engineer. I want to land an internship with a gaming company, because its something I'd like to do. Do you guys think if I land a intership at one of the major gaming companies out here, would the job experience transfer over to regular cs jobs?

A little different than what you want but most defense contractors who do simulation and training look for game developers. Honestly I would rather work in defense than video game industry one company specifically SAIC were I've previously worked for would hire intern game developers (interns from digital media and some cs)

Projects might be different in nature but you'll still have to do the same thing: develop and use SDLC. Depending on the language and methodology used, it may or may not transfer directly.
Any internship in tech is good though. The internships I obtained in college have very little to do with what I'm doing now, but it definitely helped me gain other skills (social, critical thinking, problem-solving, understanding algorithms, corporate politics, etc.).

I think it's also beneficial to study up on project management techniques, not so much to become a PM, but to know how project operate and the life cycle works. Some use Waterfall (which is foolish in a software development realm) while others use Agile (Scrum). Learn those before getting an internship could help you better understand the flow of deliverables which would look good to the employer

If you want to go into gaming, a gaming/graphics internship would be best, but any tech/development internship will suffice honestly. As others have stated before, experience with the basic coding principals and SDLC is really what employers are looking for at your stage.

Starting to really get annoyed with Javascript in general. I don't think it's the language for me. I need to start building sites with html/css and slowly see what direction I want to go with this coding.
I do have a good Javascript book that explains and shows the actual coding in real time but a majority of sites I'm learning from have terrible explanations of Javascript. I don't want to waste my time but I'm considering some other languages.
Major problem is installing these languages on my computer.

Even creating sites with HTML/CSS, you're going to need knowledge of JavaScript (or PHP) to do anything dynamic on the page. You should still learn some type of OOP language. Java or Python would probably be the easiest. From there you'd have an understanding of programming and every other language will just look like a change in syntax.

What about JQuery? That library is more useful for site than traditional JS. But Silkboi is right, u need some type of OOP. If u want to collab on some projects let me know. I could use the practice as well.

When I was learning Python I was noticing it was pretty much the same as Javascript besides the syntax. I couldn't
get Python to work on my computer so I went back to Javascript. I had a better understanding of Python I just got way
to frustrated with the install process.
I had planned to go all the way with Javascript, but I truly don't enjoy it that much at all.
