Information Technology (IT)

I got excited when I saw so many quick replies.

Only to find that the ones I was given weren't working and the rest were just them rambling about my damn code  :smh:

Was this solved? Looks like its working fine now unless I'm missing something.

Edit: I read the question wrong

Nah not solved yet. I tried everything they gave me, but its still not operating the way I want it.

I want the nav bar to return to having a transparent background when it returns to the very top of the page.

It starts transparent and turns black when returning to the top which I want, until you get back to its original state at the very top of the page.

Just like how this one is transparent, then turns white while scrolling up. But when you return to the very top of the page, it animates back to transparent to fit with the rest of the header

I tried something that'll revert it back to transparent, after changing the background color. Does do the hiding thing as yours though. You can try incorporating it into it.

Is your nav transparent from the get go?

Going to implement it today :smokin

so im making it known at my workplace about being a jr linux system admin. I have a sit down with our sr. director and they were looking for someone outside to hire. I have experience with linux OS specifically in the server side (UBUNTU, CENTOS/RH, SUSE) but not in the enterprise level. Any advice that will make myself more marketable? Our main linux guy is complaining about the workload. From what i can tell from his 'tickets" that get pass around to him, mostly work he does is maintaining, installing, ports, admin, etc which i can do.

Any SAP consultants here? Im thinking I might go this route in a few years

we have bunch of em here. the amount of money we pay for this guys to work 4 days and put em up in a hotel during their stay is ridiculous, when it comes to 'tech" background they are dumb as rocks. For example someone asked me to install a JDK 7 and we don't support it and complaining that he needs to do his...i told him good luck.

My wife got invited to attend the 2016 IT Leadership Meeting in California.

I am in the I.T. field and I didn't realize how big this was.

From what I am told, this is like being invited to the G-20 Summit.

So this job I accepted a few months ago pretty much hit me with the bait and switch, yea I get paid more but the work is not what was presented to me, and its not that its hard but more so the project is a mess, and something is up obviously when directors are bouncing and they are the ones who literally just hired every one lol.

Sucks I left a comfy and rewarding job, but thats part of life when it comes to taking chances.

:smh:

been talking to a few companies and one seems really promising, but its the holiday season so very few jobs are posting and the ones you do hear back from are slow to respond since many people are on vacation.

Y'all keep your boy in your thoughts

I'm in a similar position except my supervisors aren't leaving (state job :smh:), so I definitely feel your pain, man. I need to start filling out applications and get out of here.

Got the word today that my training or molding to become a Linux System Engineer starts immediately. If you guys follow my post, i left a career in food and beverage to become an IT. Started my position as a Service Desk 3 months ago with zero enterprise experience. So to those whos trying to crack this world of IT dont give up and keep grinding.

That's great to hear man, keep up the good work. I'm working on getting my self into the industry, but as a CS minor I'm finding it difficult

Been outchea grinding, got a new position as Network/DevOps engineer at a startup...ready to expand my knowledge even more, Red Hat environment..should be finishing my wgu degree by June also

like to kick start my journey into IT. I'm interested in the Security sector and although i don't have a IT background, should i be applying to Help Desk or Desktop Support positions? I have a basic understanding of some computer terminologies.

I'd def advise helpdesk 1st, gets your feet wet and gets you on the ground floor. Did helpdesk for a couple years and it opened me up to other positions.

Wish I lived in SF or NYC, DC isn't close. Currently doing desktop and server/admin stuff (because that guy left and I'm not getting paid for the extra work), got a Cloud cert last year, what kinds of positions should I be looking for? Any help is appreciated, currently reading a Security+ book but looking at making moves asap
