OFFICIAL 2014-2015 @miamiHEAT SEASON THREAD (31-36) : RILEY GOT DRAGIC....DISCOUNTED!!!!!

let me get this straight... u took off Alonzo? List invalidated. Instant disqualification. Null and void. Denied. Please go.

Think he just traded Grant Long for PJ Brown and preferred Center Zo over PF next to Shaq Zo :smokin

I don't know if this has been discussed but Greg Oden being able to make it through an entire season without getting injured was one of the better things to come out of this season. Great all around story, I don't know if we'll bring him back next year but I'm happy for the guy nonetheless

I MISSED THAT. My post is now invalidated and null void lol.

however...yea we nursed oden back to health but..for what? we didnt even use him in the post season which is what they said we got him for. i just dont understand the moves we make sometimes. cuz we DEFINITELY coulda used oden to wear down timmy early in the series... along with a 3-2 zone to stop the 3pters

There’s mutual interest between the Heat and Kyle Lowry, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, who spoke this morning in an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter. Grantland’s Zach Lowe wrote in late December that the Heat would “love a shot” at the Raptors point guard. Still, Lowry’s comments have indicated a preference to remain with the Raptors, though he hasn’t explicitly said so.

The Heat would target Lowry as an addition should LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all opt out of their contracts and re-sign for lower salaries, as was rumored with regard to Miami’s interest in Carmelo Anthony, Windhorst says. The latest estimates have pegged Lowry’s value at around $11MM per year, which would require the Heat’s trio of stars to accept not much more if Miami is to accommodate an attractive deal for Lowry under the salary cap.

11 for lowry is too much. Spoelstra said this earlier today "Spoelstra also praising Beasley for sticking with the program. They met today. "We'll see what happens w/ career.""

hes glad beas stuck with the program and we'll see what happens? the program was for beas to not touch the floor, and we'll see what happens with his career is as bad as it sounds. it was nice knowing u beas. you showed potential

on a lighter note tho:

Bosh walks by Battier, who is surrounded by reporters: "You're gonna miss it, Shane! You're gonna miss it!"

When asked how did he  (Battier) change as a player over time? "I got much better looking. I also probably got slower."

Battier says he looked at taking less as "investment in my future." And now with a championship, "I can charge way more for my speeches."

gonna miss this guy

I meant to but Brain Grant not Grant Long lol. You don't take Mourning out of the Heat all-time starting line up though.

GP is on there for that BIG shot in the 06 Finals. Believe it or not, one of the best shots in Heat history.

Ray only made the BIGGEST shot in HEAT history.

PJ and Thunder were very hard to leave off

No love for my boys Clarence Weatherspoon, Duane Causwell or Vladamir Stepania?!

I really want to see other Heat fans all-time team. 15 roster spot limit.

This is going to sound like sour grapes but it's not (nor do I give a !@#$ if you think it is lol) but do the SAS know how to celebrate a championship? I've heard squat about them or from the media since they whooped our *****.

Ppl were more worried about us losing than the SAS winning. Now that we've lost, it's like meh. I mean better for me as a Heatian because it burns less

PG - Timmy Hardaway, GP, Jason Williams
SG - DWade, Eddie Jones, Masburn, Ray Allen
SF - LeBron, Glenn Rice
PF - Zo, Bosh, Ike Austin, Haslem
C - Shaq, Sikley(sp),

Honorable Mentions - Vashon Leonerd (Dr. Jake Ramsey voice), Thunder Dan Majerle, Steve Smith, Antonio Mason, PJ Brown, Caron Butler, Anthony Carter, Grant Long

I think everybody's starting 5 is going to be the same.

absolutely not. rashard? talking bout the same dude who airballs the corner 3 at least once per game right?

this offseason:

we lose birdman and battier to begin. we need to work on team chemistry BIG time. also need to train our role players. AND... we need to actually let our role players touch the floor. (LOOKING AT YOU SPOELSTRA)

- ray needs to get back in the gym to making 100s of 3pt shots per day. his shot has been so unreliable

- lebron needs to keep being lebron. hes the only player consistently improving his weaknesses every offseason

- wade, lose weight, rest up, develop a 3. no excuse for him to not have a 3pt shot yet. its not that hard. seriously.

- rashard, he needs to be practicing his 3 right next to ray and wade. if not...leave.

- haslem, go back to working on midrange jumper

- bosh, contact practice 1st and foremost. we gotta toughen him up so he can be more aggressive on drives. some 3pt practice

- rio.... *sigh* rio rio rio...who knows. hes been with us for years but still makes rookie mistakes. practice EVERYTHING

- cole, practice the 3 right alongside ray wade and rashard. every day.

- tony allen, practice with the team in general and work on chemistry

- beasley, work on defense and cleaning up offensive game

- oden, keep improving health, lose weight if possible

- james jones, work on defense, possibly put on a little weight

- COACH SPO: you need a complete overhaul. You have the skill level and ingenuity of a YMCA coach. Watch tapes of Doc Rivers coaching/plays, and Pop's coaching. 100s of tapes. Then...call them up. Humble yourself and ask for tips on how to better lead a team. Learn how to make adjustments in-game. That "ebb and flow" of the game is for weak n***as. Strong coaches fight to control the game...not be controlled by it. Staying the course is for cowards. You're a coach. TAKE THE REIGNS. Be big enough to take out your star player if theyre messing up too badly. Practice actual plays, not just "give lebron the ball." Learn how to run a solid zone. We got killed by the Spurs because they would turn our man to man into a messed up zone in under 3 passes.

Parker runs up top and passes to green, who quickly passes to Timmy. Next thing you know, our entire team, WHO IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN MAN TO MAN, is suddenly all shifting towards the ball in a weak ZONE! Timmy sees this kicks it cross cross court to ginobli/kawhi/patty mayonnaise/green who is sitting WIDE THE F*** OPEN and they knock down the 3. In cases like these, either switch to a 3-2 zone to stop the 3 from raining ever so mercilessly on our heads and force them to drive (especially when parker is going 0-9... you probably want them to drive) or tell them to stick man to man at all costs, except for switching.

in short: LEARN TO COACH

We've got alot of work to do this off season. BUT IT CAN BE DONE! And none of it begins or ends with melo. Melo coming here only masks the problem. In fact, it makes it seem as if the problem was not having enough firepower, instead of our firepower being weak as it is...
lol wow you got the formula down. You should apply to be on the heat sidelines. Guaranteed you are more qualified than everyone on there players included. lol j/k

Some free agents I think we should consider:

Avery Bradley
Kris Humphries
Kirk Hinrich
Shawn Marion
Greg Monroe
Lance Stephenson
Mike Miller
Kyle Lowry
Marcin Gortat
Jodie Meeks
Jordan Hill
Trevor Ariza
Vince Carter

A few mock drafts have us taking Napier at 26.

Sounds like Pat Riley is preaching right now on NBATV :smokin

"....we need to retool, we don't need to rebuild"

"What happened last year with San Antonio? They run or did they face it? We're going to find out what we're made of here."

I like Pat's approach in that NBATV press conference. And it makes perfect sense in reference to how he used last years Spurs team as an analogy.

That list is definitely promising with M&M, Gortat, and Lowry being the highlighted individuals that most would consider the best fit for our club. Lance obviously has the best talent of that crop but I don't think will mesh well with Spo's philosophy ie. "playing defense" lol.

^^^ Mike Miller can't comeback to the team till 15-16. We're still paying him his amnesty money.

I would love for the team to get Kyle Lowery, Gortat, Avery Bradley, Boozer (if amnestied), and Paul Pierce (I'll have a heart attack if he comes).

If the Big 3 are willing to restructure some their contracts and we retain Beasley and Oden also draft Shabazz Napier (UConn) we'll be set for another easy road to the Finals.

This offseason should be how can we preserve Bron and Wade while we get the right pieces to give them rest when they need it.

PG - Lowery, Cole, Napier
SG - Wade, Bradley
SF - Bron, Pierce, Beas
PF - Bosh, Boozer, Haslem
C - Gortat, Oden

Ray Allen (if he doesn't retire) could fit in at SG.

This is all possible but contingent on th Big 3 opting out taking around 12-15 million a year. Even if they take that little we can still get Melo at the same contract as the Big 3.

i think Napier could step right in and at the very least replicate what Norris did his rookie year. Ray's decision is huge because that would be one less shooter to replace.

One of the "big 3" isn't going to be back. I think Bosh sees a better contract and situation elsewhere honestly.

Pat basically leaned towards Chalmers coming back. I think the heat should look for a big man that can start and rebound so bosh can move back to the 4.

Zach Randolph has a player option and I doubt he'll opt-out and take less down here. But maybe...

Also I know he's been called soft and fragile but Pau Gasol is a FreeAgent this summer. He could be a big help along side Bosh.

There's a chance I'm going to Brazil for the world cup soon to see my country (Colombia) try to win this thing! So if I'm not around......that's why. I might have one of the guys run the thread
