Feel like The Triangle Offense will have a profound effect on the New York Knicks, more so than most expect.
It won't have a profound effect on Melo. As with Most great players who play in the triangle, they are going to get off regardless of what system they play in. Melo is an efficient, 28 a game scorer (80% plus at the line, 46%, over 40% from 3) and that won't change.
What will change is the involvement of the other players on the floor. What Phil, and Pop understand is that basketball is played with 5 players and in order to win, you need all five players actively participating in the game so that they can be there for you when moments of crisis occur. The Triangle is not only going to put Melo in better, easier positions to be effective, but it'll also bring out the best assets that the other, lesser players on the floor have to offer, which is honestly the genius of the triangle. Makes the lesser players on the floor actual participants in the game instead of just standing around and watching.
