The first time the Miami three was together, Bosh was coming off of a 24 and 11 season and Dwyane Wade was coming off a 27 ppg season, Bron was Bron, the Heat had veterans, and they still lost to the Dallas Mavericks.

So not sure how a Kevin Love, averaging 26 and 12 but playing nowhere close to the same defense Bosh does, Kyrie Irving coming off of a 20 ppg season, a Lebron and a gutted Cleveland roster = insta chip.

I keep seeing people saying if the Cavs acquire Love, it's insta chip. Makes no sense.
It's more like insta finals appearance. I haven't seen anybody saying that possible team is beating whoever comes out the west.

So hold up Love will make more money leaving as a free agent than staying and extending with Minny?

I think I'm gonna need this new CBA re-explained cuz that change seems to encourage more FA shakeups and give no incentives to players to stick with their teams.
It's the truth
Word. Plus Bosh not leaving MIA for HOU kinda bolsters his point.

Since in comparison one would most likely rate HOU way above CLE.

He stands to make more by becoming a free agent and not extending his contract with whoever he signs with.

He won't be signing an extention with CLE he'll opt out and be a free agent just like Melo did. Or he may opt in for one more year and choose to become a FA in 2016 when the new TV money is supposed to be starting.
Okay, I knew that but didn't really connect it to that the way I was thinking about it.

So as far as the S&T for the max, if Love opted out signing back to Minny for the most money or signing to another team would be the same amount? Similar to Melo opting out I thought the Knicks being able to offer 5 years 129 and any other team only being able to offer something like 4 and 88 mil. Wouldn't that be the same situation for Love? I recall the talk of possible S&T with Melo for that 5 year max. So did the 5 year S&T thing expire after some time in the new CBA?

Again all depends on what they have to give up. Them gutting their team to get Love is going to have Bron in the same position in Miami as he will have to possibly do too much.

Bulls and Wiz kids will have something to say regardless.

I see some of yall back on that Minny has to do w/e Love says cuz no other team wants to possibly rent him for a year nonsense so the Cavs don't have to give up much in a trade.

Like Love wouldn't prefer a S&T instead of walking and leaving money on the table.

He stands to make more becoming a free agent wherever he goes and you no longer can get 5 year deals in sign-n-trades anymore.

Nothing wrong with what Chalmers said ....
It's the truth
What exactly was wrong with what Rio said?

From his perspective, I can understand why LeBron going from Miami to Cleveland would baffle him.

Not that big of a deal.

Actually 1 extra year plus an extra 30 mil is what kept him there

Correct, your incumbent team will always have that extra year to offer but you can no longer have your cake and eat it too in a S&T.

But whether it's with CLE, MIN, or GS he stands to make more by opting out next summer or just becoming a free agent the summer of 2016.

Reasons that have more validity for the Wolves missing the playoffs.

1. They play in a historically strong conference.

2. They had one of the worst benches in the league.

3. The only player who can shoot besides Love is Kevin Martin. Two shooters on an entire roster just isn't gonna work, especially in this day and age when three-point shooting is more important than ever.

4. They have no guards who can create their own shot.

5. They have exactly one other player who can score in the half court (Pek) and he missed a third of the season.

6. They lost an inordinate amount of close games and were a complete statistical anomaly as far as their record compared to their point differential, which is partly due to luck. If you want to say Love should take some blame for that one, that's fair. But it's also tough when he's the only offensive threat on the floor and sees a barrage of double teams. Other teams aren't stupid.

Is Love a good defender, no, does he need to be paired with a specific kind of player (a rim protector in his case), yes, but guess what, that goes for every player in the league other than LeBron and Durant.

But to just point the finger at Love and act like he's the reason the Wolves didn't make the playoffs without considering any of these factors is really dumb. And when people look at factors like this to figure out why a team does or doesn't win and other folks call it "protection," that's even dumber.

I remember when lebron left Cleveland dudes saying "I mean where would u wanna live, Cleveland or Miami? Easy choice". When Chalmers says he doesn't ever think someone would leave Miami for a place like Cleveland dudes act like he violated lol. Where joakim when u need him
