STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON MOVIE RELEASE DATE 8/14/2015

i actually liked pac's cameo regardless of timeline problems.

when he asks dre what he got and he puts on california love :smokin

thought it was dope.

don't tell me you guys didn't make that little head nod when the beat drop

Pac's cameo wasn't necessary nor was it accurate. But it was still a dope just seeing him in the booth. :pimp:

Saw it last night at 10 and we didn't get out until 1 in the morning. It was a long *** movie  but very entertaining and very well acted. My biggest gripe is the constant cameos and unnecessary 1990s pop culture references like:

Ice Cube writing Friday. It felt weirdly out of left field, especially the corny way they made him say "you got knocked the **** out" like it was some groundbreaking masterpiece of a line . The bye Felicia reference was weird too.

The scene with Pac in the booth was just ridiculous. Dude just happened to be recording Hail Mary and then Dre walks in with California love? Dre wasn't even with Death Row when Hail Mary dropped IIRC but I could be wrong. That dude did an awesome Pac impression though.

As many critics have already pointed out they glossed over a lot of the kind of guy Dre really was at the time, trying to paint him as this innocent dreamer kid caught up in in all the BS and barely acknowledged his previous career with the wrecking crew. And the obvious fact that he was a violent woman beater.

Still a great flick. Between this and Dope, we need more like this in theaters.

Considering the current landscape of hip hop, a 2 Live Crew biopic could work.
This right here. All the other ones that people have been mentioning would not be entertaining as a movie. They would all be a good VH1 behind this music. But 2 Live Crew would make a great movie because like NWA they had real controversy and changed the state of rap and how people looked at it and did in a time where a lot was going on just in the country as a whole. A Jay-Z movie would put me to sleep. A drug dealer turned rapper. Snooze fest.

Just saw the movie. It was really good although the below events had me scratching my head

- The timing of Pac

- Dre punching dudes out left and right

- Dre composing "G Thang" from scratch knowing that was a damn loop

- Not including "Dre Day" as if that wasn't a pivotal moment

Other than that, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The actor who played Ren was so-so, but the other members of the group were very convincing. They did a great job of setting up the story as well, as far as the personal background of the members.

I'm sad that it wasn't a synth/midi like the movie :smh:

2live crew needs to be a lifetime movie, aint nobody trying too see ratchetness for 2 hours

We need a Nas & The Firm biopic

That will be a guaranteed hit

What makes a good biopic is someone pioneering something or dying. Otherwise it looses the appeal.

Was reading some imdb user reviews. Super trolls are out in full force.

It's hilarious that the main people who talk about nudity in films and how it's disgusting to them ,probably have the like 300 gbs of pron on their computers lol

This is weird because I was looking at the cast on imbd and they have a guy casted as warren g...I was like how did I miss that in the movie?

I pray it wasn't suppose to be that random *** dude that brought snoop to dre and Suge :smh: :smh: :smh:

Just saw the film and it was great they did a great job of having the characters look life like esp jerry heller

It was confusing at first why eazy would rap boys n da hood without ever rapping.

Crazy how cube single handily carried that group with all his lyrics.

Always wondered if they reunited earlier how that would of been.

That dude didn't even look like snoop, guy was same height as everyone else too.

Even the guy who played Suge was weak.
