STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON MOVIE RELEASE DATE 8/14/2015

Dre was under contract bro like I said he could have put a halt in Aftermath he allowed Dre to leave jus like he allowed Snoop to leave
He "allowed" Dre to leave with no artist and Dre left him all the masters. Suge "allowed" that only because he couldn't have thought aftermath would've been this big. Why make him stay if he giving you all the artist and masters? But that still doesn't address you claiming or insinuating that dre is only successful because of suge.

Ok who cares what it sold it still was trash

You were making like his album flopped and he needed to switch it up because he was failing or something. I brought up the point that it went platinum to prove he wasn't failing. Whether or not the album was trash, is opinion.

Im not saying that im saying Suge got him out of NWA and allowed Dre to make the kind of music he really wanted to make and it dont really matter what Dre left behind Suge could have still told him u still DR...Suge didnt envision going to prison more so than he didn't see Dre blowin up with Aftermath...

Dre 1st album on Aftermath was bad so he had to find somethin new and never seen before which was Eminem

I think he's talking about the weak reviews that Aftermath album brought. Nobody liked that garbage. I think at that time he was about to close the label. So Eminem basically saved Aftermath.

Thats exactly what im saying he had to do something drastic that the world never seen before which was working with a White rapper

Just saw it. As solid a biopic as you could get. Very well done.

The guy who they had as Pac was crazy. If they do a Pac movie they should use that dude. Dunno if its been mentioned but the only thing about the flick that was inaccurate was how Pac was recording Hail Mary then Dre played him the Cali Love beat. Pac did Hail Mary and all the other Makaveli tracks in 3 days, after Dre already left the row. Other than that lil tidbit the flick was ill. Funny that they thru the Bye Felicia line in there

Don't forget about The Firm album. Which had a lukewarm reception, but still sold.

I don't think Aftermath was ever close to closing, but Dre's name had tarnished some.

Even if all that were true. I still fail to see how Suge was the reason for his success. Money is what let Dre out of his DR contract. Suge would've been stupid to not let Dre walk. Gave him the whole company.
Also, Eminem was not the first white rapper. That wasn't a drastic move. The world had already seen a few white rappers. Ice ice baby was #1 every where just about.

He was close to filing bankruptcy on Aftermath plus he was being sued for stealing the name from some rock band.

THE WORLD NEVER SAW DR DRE WORK WITH A WHITE RAPPER IS WHAT I SAID

That was a very drastic move for him, Jimmy Iovine made him sign Eminem

No Jimmy didn't. Jimmy has said in interviews that he knew nothing about rap and gave dre Eminems tape. Dre heard it, told them to bring em out to meet him, and then dre signed him. Em has said the same story in interviews as well. Jimmy didn't "make" him. Haha! Y'all trying real hard to discredit any of Dre's accomplishments. Out of curiosity, why?

Pretty much Cube and Dre are creatives that survived their environment.
Then they used it to thrive. Diversified their outlook, then grew into legit business men.
Thats why they are still around today.

So how does it go from this to "punk ***"? I'm sure ya'll moved on from this anyways, nvm.

You really believe that? Dre was successful before and after Suge.
Did you see the movie? He was one the bus eating that bowl corn frosted flakes, that they really were "GR-R-REAT!", while Ice Cube was explaining that Eazy-E and Jerry Heller were eating steak for dinner every night.

Dre admitted to getting robbed for his earnings but he needed the money, Dre was going anything for money, including wearing make up and blouses.

Dre is by far one of the most influential people in American music history in the past 50 years.

He'll have his fair share of haters trying to discredit his accomplishments.

well compared to all parties involved i think Dre made all the right decisions considering he was "all about the money"

I guess them blouses marching jackets and frosted flakes paid off for a guy who has no talent and needed Suge and Eazy like they didnt need him

I think the definition of "hater" is not clearly understood in this thread. Calling someone out on their bs doesn't mean they're haters. Facts are facts, and sometimes movies leave the facts out to make a better movie. No one is discrediting Dre for his accomplishments, but your accomplishments doesn't grant you impunity from being human and making mistakes.

To those growing up and remember the Easy incident vivdly in the 90s, when he was announced with HIV. Did he die quickly after like it seemed in the film.

Doctor said 6months to live, then he died? Cuz if time passed then he died and Cube nor Dre saw him in that span then thats foul.

Yeah, he died as soon as they announced it. Seem like a couple of weeks after it was announced. Shocked a lot of people that he died so quickly because of Magic Johnson still being alive.

Wrong. Dre had previously worked with a white rapper, Tarrie B, and it was a disaster. Iovine forced him to sign Eminem.
