I have to say, this album is a Masterpiece!!

In my top 10 albums of all time. I still play this entire album like it just came out.

On the other side of the coin...

We were an all-white, small-town basketball team in junior high... we'd travel to these city tournaments in Minneapolis and play all-black teams, literally we had never talked to a black kid before... I remember one hood squad came out to Ruff Ryders Anthem and made a huddle, had their leader in the middle barking, we were petrified in fear :x

My 7th grade basketball team would come out to "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" at every home game, you couldn't tell us nothing.

Had a 9th grade Christmas party in Science class. I brought this album and blared Ruff Ryders Anthem for everyone. Gunshots + "Talk is cheap motha***!!" did not sit well with my teacher. Scolded me and then took the CD away in front of the whole class. Never gave it back

Agree with the golden era sentiments. Went to the Hard Knock Life tour at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence in 1999

Hahaha, A+ post

I was the only non-black kid on my team so I can sorta relate

This album will always remind me of being in middle school and scamming BMG for those 1 cent CDs.

Love this album.

Still have it too.

This joint use to get me hyped like no other. Walking around the house with the mean mug and growling nonstop.

The album was outstanding. Dmx never grows old. He is lyrically one probably the best rapper.

We also used to go to these Wisconsin tournaments and play against a squad called the Madison Spartans, they were this like black pride AAU club whose colors were red/black/green... I think being black was a requirement. They used to come out to Fabolous and dunk in warm-ups :x in 8th grade we thought we were nice cause we had a few behind-the-back passes. Then we'd go to the mall after these tournaments and window shop, fawning over the Jordans we saw the black kids wearing that afternoon. Little sheltered catholic school, yes I learned a lot in college. :smh:
