Well Seeing As Though 2014 Is More Than Halfway Over It Seemed Kinda Safe To Start A List Of THe Best Mixtapes....Though I Am Aware That At Anytime A CLASSIC Could Be Dropped...But If You Were To LIst The 5 Favorite/Best  Mixtapes Youve Heard So Far THis Year SO FAR....What Would They Be?

1) $kinny - Ghetto Disneyland

2)Lil Herb - Welcome To Fazoland

3)Big Krit -Week Of Krit

4)Wiz Khalifa- 28GRams *I Really Liked Hearing Him With A Different Sound THan Usually*

5)Bosstop -At Yo Neck *Straight Gutta Drill **** From Chiraq..Nothin Fancy Or Too Complex*
 
Mixtape wise, this year been doo doo. To me at least.

That'll change when Party & Majid drop though.

This has been a weak *** year for hip hop tho forreal. So slow, it seems like NOTHING is coming out :smh:
 
Agreed!...I actually struggled to put my 5 together..a few of them made the list by Default! ...because nobody's really been dropping anything

Co-Sign Shy Glizzy- Young Jefe. Best mixtape so far and it's really not close.

That tape has bangers and only like 1-2 skip-able songs. Crazy replay value too.

Came out in Feb, and streets are still bumping it.

Surprised he doesn't have his own thread on here yet.
 
Seems like a bit of a lean year for mixtapes so far as a whole. I could probably do Album of The Year faster, but I'll give mixtapes a try based on my ipod:

For real. I had listened to some of his other tapes, but most of those were either bland, unimpressive, or pretty standard. I felt like he really found who he was on Black Histori, instead of just being a pretty good rapper making decent music.

Im gonna check it out because that's the same problem I had with his earlier work...the bland cover kinda didn't do him any justice either.
 
Gleesh is the best of the year. CB4 was dope as **** too, though it came out when? January 2nd? Eh...Can we qualify that as a 2014 tape really? Was hearing a few of those joints on blogs before the tape dropped, def more of a 2013 tape for sure.....I say CB4 doesn't count....

Drive in Theatre was cool but it doesn't compare to New Jet City. In all honestly Drive in Theatre has very little comparative replay value for me.

28 grams is garbage, only folks who like it are Wiz stans.
