Tyrant new show from FX Tuesdays 10pm

They should have at least had the native people speaking in Arabic. This "English with an accent" crap is just pure laziness; The Americans, Homeland, etc. all have people speaking in their native tongues

I think they wanted to work around captions.

I for one hate it when they have ppl speak another language and don't even translate it. Assuming the entire fan base knows every language or sending the message that w/e they're saying that you don't understand isn't important to the story.

English accents with accents may be lazy but I bet ppl would be taking offense to English with no accents

I ain't eem know having foreigners speak English on a show broadcast I'm an Predominantky English speaking country was offensive. I don't speak a damn like of Arabic etc. so if they did that I'd lose interest...don't care to much about Political correctness.

Well, that's pretty ignorant on your part to not like a quality show because of a foreign language (pretty standard American mentality, sadly). Besides, the shows I mentioned have captions that make it extremely easy to follow what's going on.

It's not about political correctness or being offensive. It takes away from the feeling that these people are in a completely different society with a different language and customs when you have people like the AK wielding kids talking like immigrants in the US.

Ignorant because I don't want to read a tv broadcast...I think that word is overused, pretty much anytime I don't feel like going out of my way to understand another culture I'm ignorant...if that's what ignorant means I'm ignorant and couldn't care less.

Them speaking english doesn't personally take me out of the show at all and dude looks passable for the ethnicity he's playing. It's like every second of my life I have to be cognizant of every racial indisrcetion...it's exhausting, I don't want a miral lesson in race and culture everytime I click on the tube.

Jamal looks like Nico from GTA.

Was handsome paint face from The Mummy not available? Maybe Sayid from Lost?

Well yeah, that's actually a pretty dominant form of ignorance prevalent in society.

 @ sarcastically describing it as if it isn't just so you could say you'll own the label

Of course it doesn't take you out of the show. You just admitted you're not willing to understand another culture.

You don't have to be cognizant of everything but when you are made aware of these indiscretions it'd help not to be so close minded about it. Whether you knew it or not this is kinda what you were going to be in for when you watched the show. If you don't like it don't watch or partake in discussion about this very topic.

Your reaction is the pretty common ignorant reply. Oh ppl think this? Oh well I don't really care, not everything has to be about learning. I just want to the enjoy the show. If that was the case you could've just ignored all of that anyway. It's like you knew you were ignorant about it and then wanted attention for it as if it was something to stand up for.

Can't wait to see what really happened and prompted Barry to go over to the US. You can tell he was the ruthless brother. That's why his father told him that it should've been him that was taking over.

It has my interest for now, just because I want to see how it all plays out and how he "comes to power".

His wife... Laying in bed asking if everything is fine like he lost his bike or something. He just saw 3 boys get executed dumb dumb

 Although his former flame said it in regards to his patients it fits with his wife as well, overprivileged.

Yeah her in that bed and those comments made me officially pissed about her character.

Anyone else get a subtle feeling that Barry's nephew could possibly be his son with Layla?

Maybe that's why he left...Bassam messed up in the son department, if its fat boy, he's a sucka...then you got fairy tale on the other side who's a straight jerk...and creepy. I just want to know if he ends up going hard like he did when he was a kid.

I'm more indifferent. Hip to the region, customs, practices but don't much care to read subtitles for a show broadcast in English. Every once in a while, but keep it to a min.

Nah. He left too early for that to be his son. Plus that would mean straight up she was always promised to Jamal and Barry was smashing behind his back. Not to mention Jamal never questioning it and Barry leaving behind a son.

While I like the Godfather comparisons and clear parallels I don't want a scumbag Barry seeded that early in the show history

I do like that he hasn't told his wife he use to be smashing Layla though. Only a matter of time before he goes back for some more honey

I was thinking Nico too or Jean Reno.

jamal is horrible. Was wishing that woman totally cut his manhood off so he wouldn't be able to rape another woman that way ever again.

So the members of the family who haven't showed they are evil are Barry's mom and his nephew and niece. I always wondered how family members felt about some of their family doing terrible things. Barry killed that guy when he was a kid and probably more crazy stuff he did will be revealed. He reached a breaking point and wanted to escape from all of it.

Barry's wife is a serious down-grade from his sister in law. He married like the average opposite of her.

I'm thinking Bassam's wife is caught up in the image of power. She knew what his family's about...she said she wanted to call him Bassam from day one. Basically she wants the lavish lifestyle while turning a blind eye to the corruption, the complete opposite of her husband. She'll have to learn the hard way, same way with his son.

Or I could be giving her too much credit in an attempt to rationalize her ignorance.

I mean that'd be a good plot twist and mean the writers just aren't horrible with her character

They've put that family through enough hell. The weekly rapes of the wife wasn't enough, she was probably executed already and now the husband is going to disappear. His kids need to plot some Kill Bill type revenge on the al-fayed family.

I didn't even see the whole episode yet but Molly is such a.....woman :smh:

Convince the man into reconnecting with his family, then get mad when he fully immerses himself within the inner workings of the country. Of course if she got to stay and enjoy the perks while he did I'm sure she wouldn't complain...

Didn't know the son had sugar in his tank, didn't pay much attention to dude. Could've done without the beach scene :x

Show def has my attention.... Jamals wife

That interigation scene was deep i had the feels when buddy was telling his side of the story. I'm still intrigued by this show.
