Only Jay album that I can play from front to back, and easily his best work IMO.  

18 years ago?  Wow....time really flies.  
 
I was wondering why cats all over twitter were re-hashing the age old conversation about how this album didn't even hit that hard when it dropped yet revisionist history has tried to make people believe otherwise.

Came in here to post this. Should be more like like a 13th birthday because that's when people discovered it and Jay starting crying, calling it a classic. Cats in NY were not on Jay like that until Vol. 2.

I probably own 6 copies of this cd, one hasn't left the cd player in my car in years, I don't even listen to cds. I always play it on road trips.

Can I Live is just on another level when it comes to rap songs. 
 
Good album. But IMO Black Album is his best. Then BP1. Then RD.

3rd favorite album after Illmatic and Ready to Die. I hope he does 20th anniversary shows for it because I wasn't that old when he did the 10th anniversary show.
